After Bailey left Jordan's presence, she knew he was staring at her behind. Boys will be boys, she thought. But at least, this one is modest to a fault.

" Yo! Ass. Captain... ", she heard someone say. " Bailey!! ".

She turned and met Eva running towards her. The girl eventually caught up. Bailey was slightly pissed.

" What did you call me? " she asked.

" Chill! Sorry if you got that wrong. I actually meant assistant captain. Isn't that what you are? Assistant captain of the basketball team. ". Eva said.

" Really? When was I appointed as such? ". Bailey said.

" Nevermind. You should know that is your position. You might even be captained captain. Do you really think I'll tease or taunt you? Come on now, babe! I'm a wallflower in this school. What is more, I'm not that stupid. An incident like that isn't something to be laughed about. So how are you doing? "

" Kicking as you can see. ".

" Kicking? I advise you not to use that. Fetuses also kick you know? ", Eva said chuckling. Bailey joined in but they stopped almost immediately as they started. It was weird.

Bailey perceived that Eva was one of those ignoramuses who thought the rape actually happened. But there was one thing that caught her fancy.

This school wallflower has such a cool countenance. She walks side-by-side with Bailey, the victim of the rampant school rumor, with a cool mojo. All so very interesting.

Concisely, Bailey could smell a rat.

" So wallflower, what brings you to the area of the jocks? ", Bailey asked. " Aren't you supposed to be back at the basketball court practicing? ".

Eva laughed. At least her laughter is better than her chuckles..., Bailey thought. Way better. She should laugh more.

" It's not like that. I came to see my bestie. She plays baseball. Besides, I was bullied away from the basketball court by you know who. And...I happened to see you talking to the captain of the football team, so I decided to wait for you so we could walk together whilst chatting. So please tell me how you managed to capture his attention? He's been snubbing girls ever since his recent break-up. Even Amber stopped trying and now they're simply f-r-i-e-n-d-s. She's now focused on Kesh. Gosh! She has eyes for the good stuff. ", Eva said like a lovey-dovey, envious highschool student prototype.

Bailey didn't know whether to laugh her ass off or smack someone's head off. It was like between a rock and a hard place.

" But you are a wallflower, aren't you? People like Martin, Franklin...and co should be the people you should be crushing on. Not the hotshots. ". Bailey said, trying to pull her strings.

Eva laughed. " Nice one. But, if you didn't know, Franklin is my male best friend whereas Martin has a girlfriend. And besides, I'm beautiful so it won't be long before one of the hotshots, Jax perhaps, asks me out. I can't obviously root for Kesh anymore. I mean only girls with guts will. Who would want to mess with Amber? ".

Bailey decided to play it cool. She has another entire reason. The way she said Jax, was as if she wanted to lead her onto something.

Her paranoia has kicked in. Jax is painted red on her suspect list and Eva might not be the ordinary wallflower she seems to be.

She continued to play along. " Which Amber are you talking about
exactly? ", Bailey asked.

Eva made a face. " Who else? The assistant captain of the track team. Blonde, five feet five, blue eyes, low cheekbones, full red lips. Boisterous personality and fierce attitude. She goes by the nickname dauntless. One of the school's recognized hot chicks. The only close female friend you've made apart from the other clique of female hotshots of course. Our classmate, Amber Michele White. Who else?! "
