Bailey awoke painfully early. Her uterus walls were at it again. She took her time in the tub, soothing the pains with the hot water she bathes with. After a long while, she forced herself out.

She remembered she was attending school today. Ahhh! The queen bees would have a gossip topic. Kudos to them. She went through her morning beauty routine. She decided a casual look was best. So she threw on a black top, black combat pants and Nikes high tops. A baseball hat on her head. She felt lazy to pack or style her hair so she let it down, down to her butt. Her make-up was light but enough to cover her bags and stress worn face.

She then headed downstairs to have breakfast. Surprisingly, she met her mother dressed in a kitchen apron and cook hat maneuvering her way around the kitchen.

“ Buenos dias mama. ”, Bailey greeted clearly shocked by what she saw.

“ Hmmm, buenos dias. Here. You forgot to prepare your pain reliever. It's still hot. ”. Griselda said passing her daughter a cup of whatever was inside.

Bailey frowned at it. She remembers the taste. Very tasteless, almost bitter. It's annoying.

“ Can please pour it into a flask? I'll take it at school. The pains becomes worse in the afternoon. ” Bailey said not wanting to know the reason behind her mother's sudden change of attitude.

The doctor had said mood swings would be frequent. So she left it as that.

“ Por supuesto bebé. Here's your breakfast. Toast and coffee with honey no sugar. Just the way you dislike it, but sugar would only increase the menstrual pains. You are a hopeless sweet tooth. ”.

“ Gracias mama. But I actually like honey. And I'm not a sweet tooth. ”. Bailey was at loss of words. She actually prayed over the food before ingesting it.

She has a toxic mood swinger for a mother. A chameleon to be exact. Very pretentious.

“ Now hurry before you run late for school. But I'll also want to know why you didn't attend school yesterday and who was the blonde that came to visit. ”.

Ahhhh, the mask didn't last long. Of course she bribed me with her kindness.

Stupid toast! And native herbal pain reliever!

“ I'll answer your question if you only answer mine. Why the changes in attitude and why... ”.

“ I'm your mother so therefore you have no right to question me. Show some respect damnit! ”. The coffee spilled from Griselda's hand.

It burned her skin. Bailey saw bit showed or felt no remorse or pity. She dropped her amazing brown toast— her mother prepares the best toast.

“ Okay mum. Respect is reciprocal okay?! And you haven't respected me to begin with... Esto no tiene sentido y es una locura! ”. Bailey said as calm as she could but her gestures were aggressive. She left the kitchen, walking out on her mother.

“ Come back here you this disrespectful child! Finish your breakfast and apologise. Keeping secrets won't get us anywhere in our relationship you are the pointless and crazy one.... I'm your mother! Get back here and apologise this instant. What kind of a child are you? You and your brother... So devilish. Am I not your mother?...  ”, her mum cussed and yelled in Spanish, Latin, portuguese and even Swahili.

Bailey was enraged. She decided to be the mature one. She found her way to the garage and hopped on her motorcycle. Griselda was certainly mad.

Screw motherhood. She bought the fucking house, pays the damn bills takes total and full responsibility of each and every affair and issue. Yet, Griselda Inez Everstone has the guts to talk this way.
