Vikram POV
It was around 12 am in the morning and I am driving the car with a lot of doses of masala tea in my system just to stay awake. I have to reach there as we planned so that Diya does not miss out on her opportunity.
I smiled to myself remembering my outbursts earlier today, I never knew I had the jealousy genes in me until I met Diya and I saw her talking to that A class flirt Yash. It is a favorite time pass for him, to make bets and impress girls, I was concerned for Diya but more than that I was angry at myself for pushing her away. That was stupid thing to do, and now I am repenting that.
I looked at Diya, she was curled up on the car seat with a blanket on top of her, her hair was tied in a pony tail, but that was escaping from the band and falling over her face. She looked peaceful and cute when I looked at her. I cant fall asleep, I have to stay awake, god please dont make me sleepy, I have to drop her there on time.
I put on some music in my bluetooth head phones so that I do not disturb her and drove away to our destination. In the morning around 6 am I stopped the car near a hotel and we both relaxed, got ready and headed to the campus and we reached there 20 mins before the competition begun, and there was still an hour left before Diya goes to compete.
Though I was sleepy and moody I stayed around for all the competitions and I was mesmerized by the spark which Diya had while she was particpating. She was too good and she had won 2 competitions while she was a runner up in other's.
Later on, I was surprised to find that Diya was dancing on the stage, her movements were flawless, her expressions were captivating and her choreography was neat and breath taking. I never knew she could dance like that. I was proud to see that when she came out with the medals and certificates, her classmates picked her up and rallied her around the campus. The smile she had on her face, made me happy, I hoped that one day she would smile like that for me.
Later that night, while everyone were busy playing some random games, I texted Diya to meet me at the back of the hotel we are staying which was quiet. The garden had fairy lights on them with lanterns and I knew Diya would love this place, her face would light up.
I heard her foot steps and I looked at her. She was wearing a kurti which came till her knees and a legging. She looked comfortable in her own skin, and she had a shawl draped around her to protect herself from the chill surrounding us.
Me: Hi Diya
Diya : Hi
Me: Diya, I have to tell you that you were amazing in your culturals round. Breathtaking I should say, congratulations !!
Diya: Vikram, thank you. If you would not have bought me here, I would never have been able to win this.
Me: Well, thank you for being there for us, I cannot believe that you were ready to give up all this to stay at home to take care of Zyru
Diya: Well she is my daughter and next if I would have missed this, even then I would have been fine knowing I was with my daughter, so as long as you see and appreciate my efforts thats fine with me.
Well, I also have to thank you too, for consoling me yesterday in the car before I went to sleep when I was worried about Zyru, until I spoke with Aunty about how she was doing I could not sleep, but when I knew she was okay I felt calm. Aunty said how you made sure, doctor would visit them every now and then, while there is a nurse and body guards around while we were gone. That really helped me sleep, I just cannot be away from her ever.
Me: See you are a mom already, promise me that even if I am a jerk you will never question your abilities and if I do that then punish me but do not get hurt okay? I just cant see you hurt, I hate seeing your tears.
