I woke up, but not like I usually wake up. I woke up with a smile on my face, and with the feeling of happiness.

I was happy for school, happy to be able to see Jonah.

I got ready, putting in a little more effort in making myself look presentable than I usually did.

"Ill pick you up at 7," a text message from Jonah read, his name on the screen instantly giving me butterflies.

When we arrived at school all eyes were on us. The whispers in the crowds made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't like all the attention. He walked me to my first period class, his fingers interlocked between mine, stopping me by the doorway.

"So I was thinking, do you want to come over tonight? Ill cook some dinner," he said.

"You cook?" I asked, with a smile on my face.

"Oh boy do I, I cook pizza. That counts doesn't it?"

"I guess so, I love pizza though, so I guess that's perfect."

"Okay good, see you after school," He kissed my forehead, and walked away.

During 3rd period I went to use the bathroom.

"Did you see Jonah is with that new girl?" One girl said, not knowing the girl she was talking about was in the stall.

"He's just dating her because he feels bad, I heard her dad was having an affair, and her mom found out," a blonde girl said, as she put on her lip gloss.

"I heard she was having the affair. With the mailman," the other girl said laughing.

I heard enough, I got out of the stall they turned around and immediately shut up, until the blonde spoke, "I'm so sorry for your loss." Fake, fake, fake is all I could think.

"Ya, thanks." I walked out, hearing their laughter behind me.

The rest of the day was long and dreadful, everyone was staring at me like I had a big target on my face. The day was finally over, and Jonah greeted me at the car.

"Hey how was your day?" He said opening the car door for me.

"It was fine."

We got to his house, he opened the car door for me, and then stopped me when I got down.

"Close your eyes," he said.

"Okay." I put my hands over my eyes.

He led me into his house, I could hear the squeak of the door, and the cracking of the floor, and then I could hear the back sliding door open.

"Open your eyes," and so I did, and I was amazed. The deck was decorated with flowers, and a table in the center with two plates, champagne, and even more flowers.

"Oh Jonah, this is beautiful when did you set this all up?"

"During economics class."

I gave him the disappointed mom look, that quickly changed to a smile, because I remembered he did this all for me.

"Come sit down," He held out the chair for me and I sat down. "I'm just going to get the pizza."

He came back a few moments later, a pizza in his hands that smelt amazing. He set it down serving a piece to each of us, and pouring us each a glass of champagne.

We talked about our days, I didn't tell him what happened in the bathroom. The sun began to go down, a beautiful sunset starting appearing.

"That's such a beautiful sunset," I said.

"Come with me," he grabbed my hand pulled me along. We got into his truck and drove off, we stopped, and I understood then why we came here. The beautiful sunset was right in front of it, its the best view of a sunset I had ever seen.

"This is amazing." I said, he grabbed a blanket from the back seat and we got out. Laying side by side on the ground, watching the sunset slowly fade away as the stars began to make an appearance.

My head was on his chest, I could hear his heart beating and that was one of the best sounds I could hear. "I love you Lorelei." I take that back, hearing him say that was the best sound I could ever hear.

"I love you too Jonah, and I don't know what I would do without you," I lifted my head and looked into his eyes, he cupped my face in his hands and kissed my lips. He took my shirt off, and I took his off. And at this moment I felt like nothing bad could ever happen again.

I woke up next to him, and immediately a smile arose on my face. He woke up to me smiling at me and he smiled back, then kissed me on the forehead.

"I better get you home, before it gets to late," He said as he got up and began getting dressed.

He walked me to the door when we got back to my place.

"I had a really good time tonight," I said with a smile on my face.

"I did too, and im glad you did. Good night Lorelei," He kissed my forehead and walked away.

I walked into the house, a smile on my face.

When Jonah came to pick me up in the morning I could tell something was wrong the second I sat down. There was no "Good morning," No "Hello cutie," like there always was, last night was amazing what could have  went wrong?

"Whats wrong, did I do something?"

"No Lorelei you didn't do anything."

 "Then what is it?"

 "My moms home visiting."

"Oh why didn't you tell me she was coming?"

"Because I didn't know until this morning when she appeared at my front door."

"Why don't you seem happy then?"

"Because she wants me to move back with her, she says shes selling the house."

"She cant just make you move with her, can she?"

"Shes my mom, she can do whatever she wants."

"I'm sorry."

"Its okay, she'll change her mind in a few days when she realizes she really doesn't want me around all the time."

"I don't know how anyone would ever not want you around."

"You don't know my mom she has a very low tolerance for people, especially for me and the kind of people I associate with."

"Kind of people? "

"Good hearted, down to earth kind of people. Like you."

"Does she know about me?"

"No, and lets keep it that way."

I felt a sudden sadness inside me. I wanted to know more about his life, but I guess he didn't want me too.

We pulled into the school, after a few moments of awkward silence.
