The school day ended, and I was glad to leave. As i walked out of the front door, I was happy to see Jonah smiling when I got closer to him.

"Hey beautiful," he pulled me in kissing my forehead.

"You seem happier than before," I said, grabbing his hand as we walked to the car.

"I just realized, when I'm with you I should be focused on you and nothing else."

I smiled in response, I was happy as long as he was.

He drove me home, there was no hanging out since his mom was home and was expecting him.

My aunt was cleaning the kitchen counters down when she saw me come in.

"Lorelei how was school? Would you like a snack?"

"It was good and no thank you im not hungry."

"Okay, well we are going over to Jonahs house for dinner."

     "We are?"

"Yes his mom invited us over, and I thought it would be nice for us to get to know her, and Jonah better. Jonah and Alice have known each other for years, and we've never met her."

"So does that mean Alice is coming? I thought she was grounded?"

"She is but because your uncle and I will be there we thought it would be okay. Don't worry I wont let her say anything she shouldn't."

     "Okay, what time is dinner?"

     "5 o'clock," she answered.

     I went up stairs taking my phone out immediately, a message from Jonah was already on the screen. I opened it,  it said;

"Mom invited you guys to dinner. Does your aunt know we are dating? She cant tell my mom."

"No I don't think she knows," I responded.

"Good lets keep it that way until after my mom leaves. I'll see you at dinner. Love you."

"Love you too," I responded back.

I laid back on my bed, and let my mind rest, if I hadn't I felt as if my head might have exploded.

"Lorelei we're leaving in 5 minutes!" My aunt yelled from down stairs. Its already time? I looked at the clock, I must have fallen asleep It was already 4:40, last I remember It was 2.

I didn't even have time to get ready so I threw on some jeans and a t-shirt, put some eyeliner on and called it good.

My aunt, uncle, Alice and I all got in the car. Lilly was left at home with a babysitter, after much protesting to tag along.

Alice ignored everyone, on the way over only glaring at me when we made eye contact.

We pulled into the driveway but instead of only seeing Jonahs truck, there was a beat up old car there too.

We got up to the door, my uncle knocked, and the door opened instantly. A blonde woman in a blue dress that hugged her curves, opened the door.

"Hello Penelope, its great to see you," My uncle shook her hand, and my aunt did as well.

"Its such a pleasure to meet you guys, Jonah has told me so much about all of you. Especially you Alice," She took Alice's hand, and kissed it. Alice grinned at me, like it gave her some weird satisfaction.

Penelope then made eye contact with me, "You must be the famous Lorelei I've heard about around town,"

"Yes, its nice to meet you ma'am," I shook her hand, and I could feel it shaking like an earthquake. Was she nervous? She had no reason to be.

Jonah walked out from the kitchen, he was in a blue flannel, and ripped jeans.

"Is it all done Jonah?" Penelope asked.

"Yes," Jonah made eye contact with me, I could tell something was wrong.

"Lets go eat shall we?" Penelope asked.

We all followed her and Jonah into the dinning room, on the table there was chicken, stuffing, gravy, and vegetables set out. I sat across from Jonah, Alice was next to him.

"I'm so glad you guys came over, I just needed to meet this Alice Jonah has never been able to shut up about. You guys have just grown so close these past few years." A part of me couldn't help but get jealous.

"Thank you for inviting us. This is a lovely house by the way."

"Oh well thank you, Its hard to keep this house all nice and tidy all the time, but some how I manage," Penelope says. Jonah laughs a little bit, and she looks at him with a glaring eye.

"So Lorelei, im so sorry about your parents. That's just terrible," Penelope said.

"Thank you it is terrible, but im glad I have such loving aunt and uncle who took me in," My aunt and uncle both smiled at me.

"Jonah you forgot the butter!" Penelope yelled out of nowhere we were all in shock. Jonah was angry but also a little scared, he got up coming back with butter and setting it on the table.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell," She touched Jonahs arm, and he pulled away.

A few awkward moments passed, Jonah kept his eyes down, until it was time to clean up the dishes.

      "Can I help?" I asked.

"No you sit and relax Lorelei, Jonahs got it," Penelope answered.

"Well we really better get going, don't want to keep the babysitter waiting to long, thank you so  much for having us," my uncle said, getting up.

They all shook hands, saying goodbye.

Jonah gave me one last look as he closed the door behind us.
