Reincarnated as Dream with Differences

♥ Chapter 5 - The Incident ♥

NARRATOR's POV

A time skip to months, Dream would visit the travellers- now known as villagers for building their village down the hill where the Tree of Feelings lies.

Night had been getting beaten up since day one, he questions why when Dream leaves, he gets bullied but he hated it because Dream goes to visit the village a lot. He has been feeling down such as anger and depression, with all the negativity had. overwhelmed Dream whenever he 'comes back'.

Dream was worried, he could feel his older brother's negative emotions grow each day but he was just sitting there and doing nothing about it. But it wasn't because Dream was careless, it was because the villagers forced him to watch and not get involved.

All Dream wished for is friends but the villagers wanted the positive aura that Dream creates on people around him and he hated it.. Dream was told that the villagers would beat his brother worse and torture him if he doesn't obey with their orders.

But he was getting Deja Vu of each moment of his life, hated memories but Dream felt as if he knew this was going to happen, he can't explain the feeling.

"Brother, I'm so sorry.." Dream apologized, letting go of his brother's shoulder and going a few steps further from the monster who was once his brother, their eye twitching in anger.

Dream only tried to help his brother but the villagers kept bringing him everywhere but apart from his brother but sometimes, he would watch the villagers bully his brother from afar with one of the aggressive villagers watching him, he hated it.

Dream was useless at everything but being the yellow spirit he always has been, he could tell that his brother thought that he didn't care for him anymore, didn't like him for being the Guardian of Negativity. In reality, Night was only paranoid do to what the villagers had done to him. Dream still loved him and cared for him, he didn't care if they were the Guardian of Negativity but Dream just couldn't be there to help.

But now, that was all in the past. Dream's worse Dream is happening infront of him. Night, his brother ate all the black apples and the golden apples by using his negativity to turn the golden apples to black apples.

"BROTHER, I.. CAN FEEL IT." Night stopped himself, going down in his knees and taking a hard grip on his head. It hurts a lot and Dream could feel it due to their connection, Dream wished he could scream but he just couldn't, he was too worried for his brother to care for himself.

"NIGHT, PLEASE! THIS ISN'T YOU!" Dream called out. "MY NAME IS NO LONGER NIGHT, CALL ME.. NIGHTMARE." Nightmare laughed, the villagers were fleeing but some were idiots and tried to stop the Guardian of Negativity, stepping on Dream in a sign of desperation.

Dream stood up to face his brother or the monster now, he could understand his brother.. this was the time to talk to him, to try and explain everything to his brother. If he could catch his attention.. Dream touched his brother's shoulder, only for his hand to turn to stone.

"I.. Brother, listen to me. I'm sorry for all the pain that they did to you while I was away, I was too oblivious on that.. I didn't know they were hurting you." Dream explained, but he was lying. He knew what happened, he knew they were hurting his brother.

Night felt happy that his terrible excuse of a brother was gone, but heartbroken and confused on his last words. He could sense a lie on his brother's choice of words, he didn't understand.. just like what he thought his brother wouldn't understand.

Dream fully turned to stone, his tears forever falling down his cheeks. Night stood there in silence, all the villagers were gone.. no one else was alive. But Night felt only a slight hint of sadness and ignored it, his brother doesn't care for him and so did he too..
