DREAM's POV

I ran away from my brother, giggling like a child even if I was older than I look and sound, Night caught up to me because he waited for me to circle the tree.

"Haha! Got you again!" Night stated confidently, I stared at his light purple eyes and shmile at him.

I swear I heard a faint voice, it sounded comforting but felt like it was warning me of something in the meer future.

I lightly shook my head, just enough for Night to not notice it. "Hey Night, can I read one of your books again?" I asked Night, with my innocent tone.

"Ofcourse!" Night finally stood up and I could breathe, grabbing a book behind the sun flag. He sat down beside the tree and I sat next to him. He gave me a fantasy book, my favorite genres and snatched a book for himself.

We read silently but we did talk to eachother from time to time to keep the tensions at the bottom. Once I was done reading, I placed the book just beside me and about to explore the forest when I felt an unknown presence. I walked a few steps but stopped and debated, one side of me wanted to explore but the other was to keep Night safe.

I choose the second option and sat back down with Night, he looked at me with confusion before shrugging it off. After about an hour, the presence was still not away so I will stay with my brother for the rest of the day.

I decided to talk to my brother since the tensions were rising again and nudged him, he turned to me. "Hey brother.." I called, he tilted his head.

"Will you promise that you would never leave me?" I asked, the negativity from Night was dying and I looked down at the ground.

"Ofcourse! I would never leave you. You care for me and I care for you.. that's all I have to say." Night promised, holding my hand.

I leaned of his shoulder while smiling, enjoying the sun dawned. They would enjoy this moment together but this memory would be forgotten by time.

NARRATOR'S POV

Night had full weights on their shoulder, he turned to his shoulder to see his brother who fell asleep on him.

He was pretty sure that his brother also sensed a presence watching from the forest, explains why Dream didn't leave him. Dream stayed so he could protect him, though he didn't need too because Night was the older brother because he woke up first, not Dream.

In the passing hours, nothing bad had happened to them and the feelings of being watched was slowly being ignored, but no fully because Night wanted to be cautious for his smaller brother.

Night stared at the forest until the feeling fully went away from him, seemingly running away or something like that. It was already nighttime and he stood up cautiously, not wanting to wake his brother Dream up.

He looked around the forest, only taking a few minutes because he might get kidnapped or something close to that, the world was unexpected for sure. He made sure not to go so deep into the forest and returned back to Dream, he positioned himself beside his brother, putting Dream's head on his lap.

He looked to his brother's face and cried tears of SYMPATHY. "No.. I shouldn't do that, he loves me.. and I love him too.." Night mumbled, he wipped his face from the tears that were about to fall from his face onto his sleeping brother.

Night leaned closer to his mother, The Tree of Feelings. "We miss you mother, even if Dream didn't get the chance to see your face unlike me.. I'll miss you, Nim." He forced himself to relax before he closed his eyes and fell asleep from the exhaustion.

"I'm sorry brother, but I am unsure that I can keep your promise for so long." Night said before fully going into a Nightmare.

Unbeknownst to Night, Dream was still awake ever since he felt Night move him. He was filled with guilt, he felt so bad for his brother. His brother knew that promises don't last forever, atleast try to think it does.

It was a good time for Dream to watch the twinkling stars that filled the blank blue sky with barely any clouds insight.
