I was in the woods. I look down and am amazed as I see beautiful white fur. I'm a fox again. Just like the last dream I had. I walk to a river nearby and see my stainless white face. My ear begins to burn and I whimper slightly. I look at my ear in the water and see a black Crescent moon appear on my ear. What the hell? That's weird. I turn around and see a woman standing next to a tree.

She has a red dress on and it's flowing around her like the wind is blowing, but I feel no wind. She looks so familiar. How do I know her? Just before I ask, she smiles and my heart aches. Why does it pain me to see this woman?
"This is not a dream" the woman speaks up. "I am coming to you in your time of need. You do not know it but you will go through a very hard and long journey within the next few weeks. You will almost die and you will know what loss is. But fear not my child. You will make it through and you will learn love like no other ever could. Now wake up. Wake up and greet your mate. He is worried about you darling."
And with that she vanished and everything was replaced by a blinding white light.

I wake up to a white room with a monotone beeping in my ear. I take a breath and instantly I feel sparks fly through my hand. "Novalyn? Nova are you ok?" I hear a sweet, but gruff voice.

I open my eyes and see two people staring at me. David and the doctor, Lacy. I try to sit up but David stops me and my side flares up in pain. I inhale sharply and clutch my stomach. David grabs my hand and the sparks I felt before are now flaring all over my hand. He notices me staring at our hands and smiles.

"It's the mate bond. It feels incredible doesn't it?" His face lights up and I stare in awe of how amazing he looks when he smiles.

Dr. Lacy clears her throat and we both look at her. She smiles at us and directs her attention to me.

"So you've been hurt pretty badly." Her face turns to sorrow and pity, "but will make a full recovery. I can't tell you an exact estimate of how long it will take but we will take it day by day. As slow or fast as you need to go to get better." She grabs a shirt from a drawer and hands it to me. "You might have a lot of pain in your stomach. Let me know and I will get you some medicine."

I think back to my dream. "This is not a dream" the woman said. She also called me her child. It's so weird. It felt so familiar. I just can't put my finger on it.

"Nova are you ok?" I jump and realize I was lost in thought.

"Sorry. I was just thinking. What were you saying?" I notice the doctor has stepped out and it was just me and David. He stood up and picked me up bridal style.

"We are going to go back to my place and I'll let you rest and gain some energy. You've been sleeping for about a day and it's almost night now. Then I'll fix you some food in the morning and we will go from there. Is that ok with you?" He looks at me as he talks and I blush at the way he's looking at me.

I nod my head and stay quiet. After a few minutes of walking I hear him sigh and look at him. He looks like he wants to say something. So I wait patiently.

"Did you know that would happen when you went home?" He questions. I bite my lip and avert my eyes from his. As I look down he stops walking.

"Nova... please tell me if you knew" I can feel his eyes burning into my whole being. It was horrendous not telling him knowing it was upsetting him. Why does it pain me so much?

"Not completely." I say in the smallest voice I can manage while still allowing him to hear me. He tightens his hold on me slightly.

"What do you mean?" His grip is firm now but not painful.

"I knew something bad would happen. I knew Westley was going to hurt me. But I didn't know that he would cut me. He doesn't usually use a knife. And I don't know where my phone is and didn't see if he called or texted saying if he was pissed. I-i just knew the longer I waited to go home the worse it was going to be." I tried to keep my voice from wavering but it betrayed me and the fears in my head revealed themselves.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know it would get so bad." Tears burned my eyes. Threatening to betray me too.

He started walking again and soon we were at the giant house. As he went to open the door it swung open and two teenage boys walked out. They stopped just before they hit us and backed up immediately, bowing their heads.

"Sorry alpha. We didn't see you." One boy said. They looked up and smiled. As their eyes landed on me their smiles dropped. "Alpha is everything ok? Do you need help with anything?"

"No boys. Thank you. It's sweet of you but I am just going to take Nova to bed for her to get some rest. I will see you later."

"Is she our Luna? She did amazing on the course. I would love to have a strong Luna like her." The boys looked eager to have a Luna.

David smiled and his cheeks tinted slightly. "Yes boys. She's my mate. But don't scare her off with your rough nature. She may be strong but this is very new to her."

The two boys walked off and David continued into the house and up the stairs. Back to the room I was in before.

"What's a Luna?" My curiosity getting the better of me. David looks down at me and smiles.

"It's the mate to the alpha. That's me. I am the person that runs everything here. And a Luna is someone who takes care of what the alpha can't. We run the pack together." He smiles and sets me on the bed.

"So it's like your the boss of everyone here?"

"Sort of. I have the power to make the other wolves listen to me by putting athority in my voice. It's called using an Alpha voice. No wolf can resist me if i use my Alpha voice." He pulles the blanket over my legs and sits beside me. "You should rest. You've had a long day. We can continue this tomorrow."

He lays me back and heads to the couch in the corner of the room. "Are you going to sleep on the couch?" He nods his head and pulls out a blanket from a table beside him.

"I would rather stay close to you. Just in case. If that's okay with you." I nod my head and lay on my side. It doesnt take long for my body to relax in the warm sheets.

The darkness surrounds me and my mind goes into silence.
