The first thing I notice is the crunching of leaves. My head is swimming. It's like the first time Westley made me drink.

The next thing I noticed was Westley carrying me.

I tried to open my eyes and start to struggle out of his arms. He holds on tighter.

"Nova, stop. We're almost there." David whispers to me.

I open my eyes all the way and see it wasn't Westley holding me at all, but David. I should have noticed the sparks sooner.

I clutch at his shirt and inhale his scent. "What happened?" My voice was gravelly and hoarse. Like I was sleeping for hours.

"He drugged you, sweetheart. And now you'll be punished. Oh, how I can't wait to see blood in that golden hair of yours."

My blood ran cold. My body tensed up.

"Westley, please. You have to understand. Y- you can't really think I d-deserve a punishment for this. I-i tried. I'll do anything. Just don't hurt them. I-ill listen. I'll do what you tell me just let them go back to their pack."

"Nova!" David started.

"Shift" Westley said before David could get anything else out.

"B-but Sky won't do it."

"Shift or I'll kill them!"

I willed myself to shift. I closed my eyes and felt my body shrink. I jumped out of David's arms and slunk to the ground.

"Hahaha! Yes! Now kill them. Get this silver off of me and we can go home. If you listen well then maybe you won't have to sleep in the cage tonight." I lay my body low to the ground without touching it and whimper.

"Nova, come on. Are you seriously doing this right now? He's chained up and has wolfsbane in his system. He can't do anything to you." David took a step forward. "What did he do to you? How bad has he hurt you for you to be this scared of him?"

I looked at Westley and tried to think of a way out of this. I have to listen to him. But I can't kill them. Think Nova. Think.

I look behind me and see open woods.

"Don't even think about it." Westley grew angry with my thoughts. He knows me too well. Besides, he'd always find me.

"Lanson. Bring Westley to the prison. Lock him up in the back. Make sure there are 3 guards at all times. I'll be there as soon as I can. Also double patrol. No one patrols alone." David waved them off so he can keep his focus on me. I knew what he was doing. He wanted Westley to stop being in control of me.

If he wasn't there, he can't get in my head more. Too bad he didn't know, Westley was already in my head. He was rooted in with no way out.

As soon as they were out of sight and we couldn't hear their footsteps anymore. David got on one knee.

"OK. Now it's just you," he put a hand up to me in gesture, "and me," he put his other hand to his chest.

I slowly stood up and made my way to him. He rubbed one of my ears and I leaned into his touch.

"You can't keep letting him control you. You are so strong. Just let me deal with him. I promise. I will make sure you never see him again."

Leaves rustled nearby and I jumped. I turned around to see the guy that locked me up in that big cage. Alpha Jason if I remember correctly.

My body fluffed up and I yipped in surprise.

"What do we have here? Alpha David," his eyes shifted to me, "and a white fox. What a pickle you must be in."
