I slowly closed my eyes, as I felt a strong, burning sensation in my left cheek. I wasn't sure if it was the bullet or my nervousness already boiling inside of me.
Hearing the large sound, I tightly covered my face, not sure what to daring to open my eyes, as I was afraid of seeing something that I didn't want to see.
I didn't want to see Bang Chan hurt, I didn't want to see his face as I didn't want to be the last thing for him to see, knowing that he deserved better than that, he deserved the things I couldn't afford to give him.
I wasn't meant to be the one for him, I never wanted to drag him into my life.
I never wanted to fall in love with him, but I was too selfish to let him go.
Chan, I apologize for that, you deserved better and I'm sorry that I wasn't the one who could've given you that.
Tightly shutting my ears closed, I could still hear some faint laughing, which later on I was informed that it was, really loud, I noticed this once I slowly uncovered my ears and opened my eyes, being met with loud, hysterical laughter.
The son of a b*tch was laughing at me, he was enjoying all of this, he was enjoying the sight of my suffering.
For him, everything I did, was nothing but stupidity...sure, I can be pretty stupid sometimes, but that's not the point.
"Still not scared of me?" I scoffed at his audacity to ask such an irrelevant question. Was being scared of him all that mattered to him? Dead or alive, was that important to him? Was my body all that mattered to him?
Maybe dead will he not hear my screams and cries for help.
"I was scared of the bullet," I answered back, knowing that wasn't so different at all, because at the end of the day, who was the person who was pointing that gun towards me, that gun that was loaded with bullets that were ready to strike?
He laughed right in front of my face as he came even closer, so close that I could see his scar, one that I never questioned to ask where he had gotten it from, as I was always too scared to know the answer, because I knew that he would never let himself get a scar, even with how small it was, on purpose.
"You know that I'm fully capable of ruining your life, I could take everything away from you...yet you still sit here and whine? Acting like you're all strong and big enough to tell me what to do?"
"It's cute, it's pathetic." I moved closer toward him, almost in a threatening manner as I looked back at him with menacing eyes.
"That I'm pathetic? Who is the pathetic one here?!"
"You and I both know that even with a whole three hundred and sixty-five days passing by, you're still stuck in the past and you still can't move on from it."
"So I'm still the pathetic one here?" Taeyong laughed at my defensiveness, regarding his comment, he was most likely thinking about how much that comment had hurt me when in reality I was hurt about the fact that I had dated such a stupid man.
Sure, I was stupid but I wasn't THAT stupid enough to commit such buffooneries.
"It's me, I know." he then started to play and twirl around my hair, (still having that god-awful smirk of his) that was all over the place, because I had been running like a track star, got kidnapped, and drugged, fell towards the floor and now had to face this.
Yea, I think I've made my point clear.
"I'm pathetic for being stupid enough to ever fall in love with a miserable b*tch like you." Taeyong slapped my face, with the sudden force having such a big impact, my head then vigorously turned to the side.
I started to cackle loudly at him, almost like a crazy person who was on the verge of losing their sanity for one hundredth and twenty-seventh time, as tears fell to my cheeks, some even trickling down towards my lap.
"Can't seem to forget me, can you?" I knew that in reality, he was much more miserable than me...I knew this because that was what kept me going in life, the fact that no matter what I was feeling or how I was feeling, he would be feeling it ten times worse.
That was what put a smile on my face, every single f*cking day.
"Oh I wish I did, I wish I forgot about you the day you walked out the door." he didn't hesitate at all in admitting that to me, which made me realize that he wasn't lying to me at all, but it wasn't like he had ever lied about his love and hatred towards me anyway.
"All I've felt after you walked away from me is anger...now everything I wish for is to watch you suffer and lose everything you have ever loved, starting from him." my eyes immediately turned to Chan, now realizing that not only was his doing this to get me back and restore what was already left in the past, to seek for revenge and destroy anything that had brought me joy into my life.
Starting from Chan, then onto my job as a kpop idol, and maybe even going on towards Jae, or even worse, Aby, who suspiciously had not received any sort of threat from them. Were they so merciful to let her off the hook?
This was never about unrequited love but unrequited hatred and revenge.
