After a little convincing, Steve agreed to let Robin and Max stay the night at our trailer. Again. I don't know why. Robin is just persuasive I guess.
"Alright, uh." Steve stood in the middle of our house, hands on his hips. "Same sleeping arrangements as last time, no complaints.""Steve come on." I groaned. "We can share a bed."
"We've shared my bed at sleepovers," Max added.
"Yeah, and plus, you guys get more blankets." I pointed to the two lying on the ground. "And, neither of us will complain."
He sighed, crossing his arms. "Not gonna happen."
"Aw come on, let them, they'll be fine," Robin assured him, flopping on the couch. "Plus, the couch all to myself? It'll be wonderful."
He sighed yet again, rubbing his temples. "Fine. But do anything, and I mean anything, and you're going home. Or, on the couch or whatever." And with that, he went to his room. He shut his door, and within seconds, began snoring.
"Okay, Mayfield, Tiny Harrington," Robin said, covering herself in the blanket she'd used last night. "Be quiet, I support it unless you guys keep me up all night giggling." It was the least amount of words I think I've ever heard from her.
"Got it." Max nodded, going to my room.
"Got it."
We got ready for bed again, brushing our teeth and changing into our pajamas. By the end of it all, we were too tired to talk and fell asleep.
Max didn't have a nightmare all night, which is good. We woke up at the same time when Robin barged in complaining about Steve's lack of fashion.
"What?" I muttered, looking up at Robin. She was standing in the doorway still, dressed in a dark sweater and a black and white Hawaiian shirt on top, with the sleeves cuffed. I covered my eyes. "What time is it?"
"Nine."
Max rolled on top of me, not even phasing me. I was on the outside, with about half an inch of mattress left on my side. And of course, with no mattress, where does she go, but the floor?
"Holy shit is everyone okay?!" Steve shouted.
I giggled, watching her roll over and groaned. "You good?"
She nodded.
"They're fine." Robin left the room, shutting the door behind her. "Max fell off the bed."
Steve scoffed. "I'm making breakfast!"
"Thank you!" I replied, sitting up. I helped Max up, and we got ready for the day. I dressed in an old Nike hoodie from when Steve was in high school, along with my jeans, and put a flannel on top. Sticking with the theme of my only jacket and shoes, I wore those as well. Like always. Max had gone back to her brown hoodie, and navy t-shirt.
Steve made us breakfast while complaining about how he had two sweater stealers now, me and Robin. She said it was a shirt, not a sweater, and he threw a piece of toast at her.
Nancy came by about an hour later, picking us up. We kept the same seating arrangements, Steve with the boys in the middle, Nancy and Robin in the front, and me and Max in the back. Nancy had gone shopping for him, somehow acquiring a six-pack, even though she's really not twenty-one.
"Not to be a wimp, but can I sit in the car? 'Cause, this is gonna totally and royally suck." Robin sulked.
"It'll be fine.""I can't stand to see those dull eyes of Eddie's break again. I really, really can't."
"At least he can drink himself into feeling better." Steve laughed, holding up the beer. He and Dustin were busy eating a can of Pringles.
