LAIBA P.O.V
I could not believe what had just happened with Zeeshan, it felt like a dream. Did Zeeshan just argue with me in the middle of the street then act like nothing happened, he did not even apologize.
I did not know what to do except for moving on, I kept thinking about it after I reached home. I prayed my salah before entering the kitchen and making sure the iftar was prepared just how my sister wanted. She is a perfectionist; even small details matter to her. The only thing that remained was to fry and cook the food.
I walked towards the table and saw Sadaf. I felt like she did not even live in this house anymore. I looked at her, but she seemed busy in her phone "Sadaf?" I called out but she did not respond I walked next to her, she jumped and hid her phone.
I did not want her to know that I found that suspicious, so I smiled "have you done your packing?" I asked trying to talk to her "Yes I already did my packing, but I think I need some advice on some style of clothes" she said giving me a small smile "I could help you with that" I said excitedly "oh... I am sorry Laiba I already asked my best friend" she said, and my smile dropped. Best friend? Who is that?
"If you don't mind me asking who your new best friend is?" she looked at me angrily "Laiba you don't have to know everything but if you really must know then she is one of the new friends that I made in the process of wanting be more social, you have other friends but you don't see me asking about them" she snapped at me and I felt hurt "sorry I did not mean to upset you" I said before walking away.
I do not know why she is so upset at me, anyway she will be moving away after Ramadhan for her studies. I guess she no longer wants to be close to me anymore and I won't force her.
I ignored what just happened and joined the boys in the sitting room, they were playing football on the tv. I watched them enjoy but I kept silent. I did not want to join in playing. I put my head on the side big pillow that was on the sofa i prayed Tasbih before I fell asleep.
I woke up to find everyone had left, I did not even realize when the boys left the sitting room. I went to my room to wash my face only to realize that Asr is really close to ending I prayed and went down to help out in the kitchen.
When I entered the kitchen, I saw my uncle hugging his wife from behind while she laughed and I could not help but smile at that, next to them I saw my parents. my dad looked so excited showing mom his new jacket and shoes and my mother shook her head at saying that he is an old man but acts like a small kid when he gets something new and exciting.
I smiled at them before arranging the utensils on the table, I heard the door but I did not see who it was that entered and soon I heard dad say "come Zaid beta, you have been so lost" I turned to see him hugging my father "Jee uncle, I have been so busy with business I barely have time for anything else" he said shily and I looked away "that is why you have grown so skinny, you are barely looking after yourself" his mother said while he hugged her, he laughed as a response.
"We should get him married, he will be healthy in no time" my mother said smirking at him, but he shook his head before kissing her hand as a sign of respect. I continued with arranging the utensils before entering to help my sister fry the starters.
I really liked how it looked but did not know if it tasted as good. I just hope it tastes good. Fasting and making food is one of the most difficult task for me, I would be so worried if any spice or any ingredients was less or overpowering.
I made dua when sitting on the table, I had a weird feeling about everything that I currently going on in my life. I was sad Ramadhan is ending In a few days but excited a week after Eid is my best friend's wedding.
I had not done all my shopping for the wedding, yet which is careless knowing there are many functions that I have to be ready for. I decided to go right after Eid for the remaining functions. Everyone sat on the table while we made dua before the Adhan called out.
I made dua for guidance as I was not sure if I was interested in Hamad for marriage. But honestly, I knew he was respectful, religious, good looking. He is also from a good and well-off family which is exactly what I was looking for in a life partner and I am sure my parents wanted such type of a person for me too. The Adhan called out and we made the dua for opening our fast before having dates and Zamzam.
We had come to the masjid for Tarawih prayers. It was honestly a calm and happy feeling of peace that you felt in Ramadhan. After the prayers I asked Halimah on what to do, she told me to do Istikhara before anything and only after the response of Istikhara she will guide me on what to do next.
I nodded before we had back home, for most of the night I spent it in Ibadah.
