Chapter One

LAIBA P.O.V

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled and sighed "you can do it Laiba! Today is the final paper and then you'll be free" I said as I went downstairs to See my mum serving my little brother Arif his breakfast while I went into the kitchen and made mine, i sat at the table and started to eat

After few min I saw my elder brother come downstairs with a bored look but as he saw food his mood instantly lightened up and I rolled my eyes at him

As I was about to finish my last bite of my breakfast my older brother Irfan asked "did you even revise anything for your final paper?" I looked at him with a serious look "yeah obviously" and turned to stand up but obviously I was stopped by his annoying questions

"When? I didn't see you revise. In fact I saw you and Sadaf watching something on your iPad when I came back from work"

and I heard my mum gasp and I groaned "nooo We actually revised Maa! bhai is just trying to make me seem bad" I said trying not to get myself into trouble because of my idiot brother

"Laiba, how many times have I told you not to watch anything when you are having exams! And these are your final papers! Are you even serious about this?" she glared at me making me feel like a deer caught in the headlights

"Yes Maa trust me" I said with a sheepish smile and hugged my mum from the side and gave her a huge kiss on her cheek then her forehead and I quickly gave my little brother a kiss on his forehead as he whined for me not to kiss him and I smirked seeing him annoyed

I went over to my big brother took his hand and kissed it while he kissed my forehead and gave me a smirk while I glared at him but ended up smiling

"Sadaf!!!" I yelled for Sadaf to come down but only to find out that she's waiting outside in the car for me

"Wish me luck!!" I said and rushed out of the house only to see Sadaf who's my best friend/ cousin with her brother Zaid in the car

Sadaf's brother drops us to school everyday before going to his Collage "Assalamu Alaikum" I said as I entered the car I heard two replies but as a mumble

"I'm so happy today is the final day of high school!!!! I'm so excited to finally be done with these exams" said Sadaf while chatting away on her phone

"Yeah I know right?! After today I'll be having peaceful sleep" I said with a huge smile and suddenly I felt someone staring at me I looked up to see Zaid staring and he immediately looked away and so did I

Once we reached school we quickly went to our classes because our exam was about to begin.

After the exams I met Fatmah and Asma, we sat at the cafeteria having some snacks while waiting for Sadaf and for my brother to come pick us up. Asma was talking about her wanting to start her own business but she has no idea what business to actually invest in while Fatmah just kept giving Asma ideas and i just boredly listened to them

I saw sadaf and thought finally she was here "what took you so long?" i asked while smiling at her "well you see i didn't want to rush myself like you guys did, i went through my paper twice looking for mistakes" she said proudly

" Who said we didn't go through our paper? I went through my paper too but i didn't overthink things because then i would go crazy" i laughed, she smirked as though we would fail and she would pass which is true but she would always stress while still passing but sometimes she would fail. I passed too but I never used to overthink it.

As we were talking about our maths teacher getting divorced I stood up and told the girls that I'm going to the washroom and will be right back. As i was walking towards the washroom i saw some guys staring at me i got scared and looked down and walked faster because of the fear of them bullying me which has happened before but the worst thing is that the main bully is known as Asher and he is a muslim but he loves to bully muslims who are religious but thankfully today he didnt bully me.
