I woke up at the sound of a car engine, being a light sleeper had it ups and downs and complaining was no use, I sat up straight on the bed and noticed that Edward was next to me, for the first time since our marriage, he was next to me when I woke up.
A smile grow on my face, seeing his peaceful body sleeping made me cry for joy,the mighty Edward Romano also slept peacefully, without any worries to care about.
I decided to bring him breakfast in bed, more like a thank you gesture, I stood up and walked down the hall where I heard voices, I come closer to hear Abigail saying to linda, " I want you to stop seducing my husband" she said, " I can't help it, if your hubby wants me" Linda said, " have you noticed how cold he is towards you, that is because I have what he wants " Abi said.
" You seemed lost, I can get Kevin anytime I want" Linda said, " be careful little girl, I have played this game for a while and you are knew to this block" Abi said as she left Linda, I can't believe she was this shameless, trying to ruin a man's life for nothing, I turned around to go back to my room when I saw Mrs jasmine facing me, " what now Nora?, Trying to ruin others again?" She said as she folded her arms.
" Yes, do you have a problem?" I answered in a sassy tone, " be careful with me little girl, don't give me such a tone" she said, I folded my arms as well and moved forward, " we can be friends or foes but don't threaten me, you are making a mistake " I said, Mrs jasmine laughed, " you are warning me, at your age, you have more fuel than me, but I can't allow such manners" she said, " I call the shoots in my life, I only follow my husband's rules" I said.
" You want me to follow your rules, uh!?, Well NEVER!, One thing you must consider are your enemies, they are very close to you then you think" she said, I approached even closer to her and said, "then suck my girth, and my enemies will be fine, I can handle them" I said as I walked away, leaving an angry Mrs jasmine behind me, I wasn't in the mood for anything not even Making breakfast for Edward, I decided to return to my room.
As I got inside the room, I found Edward eating breakfast, it didn't bother me if someone brought food for Edward,I was still angry with the fact that Mrs jasmine just doesn't like me, I wonder what I did to her, I felt bad that I had to disrespect her, she was elder to me and that was not part of my upbringing and somehow it felt like she tried to warn me about something even though she placed it in a wrong manner, I was taught better, " forget whatever you are thinking about and dress quickly because we are leaving" Edward said.
He didn't have to tell me twice, I was ready to leave, I quickly went in the shower and ten minutes later I was out and ready, the maids come to take out bags and Edward pulled me toward his mom's room, "I'm so happy that you visited, I hope you come again soon and this time not just the two of you" Mrs Renee said as she gave us hugs, Ash and Cris come to say say goodbye and somehow my mind remembered big Daddy Romano.
" Can we say goodbye to your dad?" I asked Edward as we walked to the open ground where two helicopters where waiting for us, " you have five minutes, so you better run" Edward said to me, there was no time to waste, Edward gave me permission to actually talk to his dad, I was confused but also glad that there was hope that the Romanos will be one again, big Daddy Romano spent his time in his home office more than anyplace, so it wasn't hard to find him.
I stood infront of big Daddy Romano's office, a huge GR was imprinted in gold writings on the door, I honestly wonder why Romanos love gold so much, even though they fight a lot, their taste and thinking was one, I knocked on the door and waited for a response, " come in" a voice said, I opened the door and saw big Daddy Romano standing at his window, holding a cigar and looking at the activities happening outside.
His office was full of sombre colours, black,gold and red, their was a mini library that had books with dark covers, it was as if I walked in the Adam's family's house, " sir?" I said with a low voice, he turned around to see me, and I couldn't help but feel as if I was looking at Edward in future, big Daddy Romano smiled at me and gestured me to seat.
" Nora dearest, what a surprise!" He said as he placed down his cigar in a small plate, " sir-" "call me dad or father-in-law or Daddy but not sir" he said as he stopped me from continuing, I nodded and smiled, " father-in-law, I'm here to say goodbye, we-, I mean Edward and I are leaving" I said, big Daddy Romano looked at me with a weak smile, " he doesn't see me, I ruined my family, but three beautiful girls pulled my family together again yet, I feel lonely" he said to me.
I realised that big Daddy Romano was not a bad person, he had fellings too, strong emotions that was buried under a strong and careless man, "it okay, we are all here, no need to be alone" I said, " Nora dearest, promise me that you will be strong, promise me that even if the sky comes down you will smile and fight hard" he said, I nodded my head, showing him that I will, he smiled again, " well Nora dearest, I wish you all the happiness in the world, travel safely" he said.
I smiled and shook his hand and turned to leave, " Nora dearest" big Daddy Romano said, " yes?!" I answered, " please do let Renee know when you get home, the truth is I want to make sure that you and my son are okay " he said, " of course dad" I said with a smile, he smiled at me back and that melted my heart, is left his office only to meet Linda and Mrs Renee in the pathway, I smiled, said nothing and walked away.
As I walked, my mind remembered what big Daddy Romano said to me and realising again that he was a good being, he was interesting, " I said five minutes and you went for ten, somehow you and Mr Romano are now friends" Edward said, "don't be like that hubby, I'm here now, we can leave" I said as I gave him a kiss on his cheek and walked away.
