"What?" Sansa stood up quickly, her chair falling over as she did. "Lenora yo- you can't."
Lenoras lips creased into a frown. "I don't want to die, Sansa." She brought her hands to the back of Sansa's head, making sure she looked into hey eyes.
"But I can't change my fate. My death is inevitable."
Sansa shook her head. "There has to be a cure. Maybe it's across the seas or maybe here in Westeros-"
"There isn't." Sansa could tell she was telling the truth. The sadness in her eyes, the sense of defeat in the tone of her words.
"There has to be."
A tear slowly rolled down Lenoras cheek. "There isn't. Sansa I am dying. There's nothing we can do about it, the only thing I can do is ensure your future. Your families future. I owe you everything I have and more, nothing can bring back your father or your mother or brother but I can insure the remaining members of your family will live long and happy. Including you."
The Stark wondered why Lenora cared so much about her. About making her happy and safe when she has never done anything for her in return. "I don't want to live a long and happy life if it isn't with you."
Lenora smiled. "You flatter me, my dear Sansa." Her eyes flicked down to Sansas lips then back to her eyes. "But I am afraid that is a promise I can not keep."
"Do it. Please." Lenora tilted her head. "Promise me you're not going to leave me."
"Sansa..." Lenora knew where she was going. "I can't."
"You will. In the many years of knowing you, Lenora Baratheon, you have never broken a vow or a promise."
That was a valid point from Sansa. Although there was probably atleast a dozen times where Lenora swore she would spare someone's lives just for them to drop dead. But she wasn't going to mention that.
Sansa Stark knew what she was doing forcing Lenora to vow not to leave her. The Baratheon smirked, knowing she was about to flip the attention to Sansa. "This sounds like a marriage proposal, Lady Sansa."
"Lenora." The Starks cheeks turned as red as her hair. "This is no time to jest!" Sansa lightly hit Lenora in the chest.
One of the hands on the back of Sansa's head grabbed onto Sansas fist. "What? You don't wish to wed me?" She faked a frown and pretended to wipe a tear away. "Am- am I not worthy enough, My Lady?"
"We can not wed Lenora!"
"Why not?"
Sansa blinked. "You know what the people will say. What they will do-"
