Sansa smiled across from the Princess Lenora. The two had been sitting in the gardens all day. Both hiding from Joffery. Lenora felt sad for the girl. She was too marry that sad boy and bare his future monstrous children.
Lenora laughed as Sansa read a tale about the Mad King. The people were truly ruthless with their words. "I didn't know you can ryhme buttocks with-"
"Princess!" A kingsguard called from across the garden. The two girls looked up in concern. The guard ran towards them quickly. "Come, quick."
"What is it?" Lenora stood in a hurry.
"Its your father."
The book dropped from her hands. "Where is he?" She demanded.
"His chambers."
The Princess rushed after the guard as her two sworn swords followed. Leaving Sansa alone in the gardens. People cleared way as the princess stormed past them. Many looked on curiously, but who had the balls to stop her and ask what was going on.
"Uncle Jamie." Lenora called as she neared her fathers door. He looked solem and quite. He opened the door in silence and his niece rushed inside. "Oh dad." Her hand fell over her nose and lips. That smelled horrible. Blood covered nearly ever inch of his bedding. Disgusting.
"Come here." His voice creaked. She hesitated. She loved her dad sure. But ew. She's pretty sure his liver was hanging out of his belly. Joffery nudged his sister forward and only then did she notice she wasn't alone with her father. Her siblings, mother, uncle Renly and Ned Stark were also there.
She swallowed and stepped forward. Her dad reached a bloody hand up. Did he want her to hold his hand? Oh dear heavens. She smiled politely and gripped onto his hand tightly. Trying her hardest not to puke all over her dad and not cry, she sat at his side.
"Name the nine provenancs from Aegons conquest." Robert damned of his daughter. Lenora looked at him. Really? History lessons now?
"The north, Vale of Arryn, Iron Islands, Riverlands, Stormlands, Westerlands, Crownlands, the Reach and Dorne."
"And which of those still stands as a kingdom now?"
She swallowed and looked around the room curiously. Ned Stark nodded to her. "The North, Riverlands, Vale of Arryn, Westerlands, The Reach, Dorne and Stormlands."
"Very good. Could you name a house of each kingdom?" Her father barely got the sentence out before he started coughing up a storm.
"What is the meaning of this?" Cersei asked curiously.
"Quite." Robert looked to his daughter.
She looked at her Uncle Renly who looked bloody confused. Still she answered. "House Dustin, Brax, Wode, Royse, Tarly, Swann, and Toland."
"Joffery." Robert Barked. "Come here." The boy stumbled forward.
"Father?"
"Answer the same questions?"
Joffery looked dumbfounded. "Pardon?"
"He said answer the questions." Lenora stared at her brother. She knew where this was going. "The original nine provenancs?"
"Uh." Joffery looked up. "The- The North, Dorne." He nodded.
"Keep going." Lenora dared.
"Stormlands... Westernlands."
"Westerlands!" Robert barked.
Cersei stepped forward. "Robert. What is the meaning of this?"
Robert rolled his eyes. Sassy. "I'm going to die soon. And I will not leave the seven kingdoms-" He gasped for air. "In- in the hands of a fool."
"Father." Joffert said weekly. "I am no fool."
Lenora laughed. "You are Joffery. You're a stupid and reckless fool." Joffery took a step forward.
"Enough!" Robert wished he could sit up to smack his children upside the head. "Untill Joffery is of age Lenora will rule as Queen."
Lenora looked baffled. "I don't want to be queen!" She stared at her father in disbelief. "I hate people, I hate ass kissing lords and lady's- I could not and will not rule."
"You would rather Joffery do it?" Lenora stiffened and looked at her brother. She shook her head. "Then it is done. Joffery, you will attend every lesson the maester requires. I will not have you tarnish my legacy."
Robert was wheezing in his bed by the end of his speech. "Everyone out." Joffery was the first to storm out. Followed my Renly who ushered Tommen and Marcylla the their rooms.
"She can not be Queen of the seven kingdoms." Cersei hissed.
Ned sighed. "There has been many Queens in the history of the seven kingdoms."
"That is not the reason." Cersei sent one last look to her daughter and stormed out of the room.
Ned placed a comforting hand on the Princess's shoulder. "Bring it Ned." Robert breathed. Ned strode to the table and brought a sword to the future Queen. "Its an ancient sword that one. Made of zar... zarhanie?"
"Zirconium." Ned corrected.
Robert waved. "Yes. Zirconium..."
Ned finished off for Robert. "Some say it's as strong as Valryian Steel." He held it out for Lenora. "Its yours."
Lenora greatfully accepted and took to sword out of the seeth. "Its black."
"Aye."
"Is it sharp?" Lenora trailed her finger along the blunt end.
"Aye."
"Does it have a name?"
Ned and Lenora looked to Robert. "You bloody name the thing."
Lenora felt a pressure on her hands as she flicked her wrist and held the sword properly. "Soul reaper."
The two older men laughed. "Dont reap my soul.." Ned joked but, he was also being mostly serious.
"Dont commit any crimes." Lenora smiled evily at a man who was basically an uncle to her. Ned held his hands up in defence. He would never.
Robert started coughing and gasping for air. "Shall I send for the maesters to bring Milk of the Poppy?"
