Chapter Thirteen: The Land of Waves

In the middle of the forest of Konohagakure, a singular cat was strolling. There was a small black cat with golden eyes.

He was simply laying down on the ground, however, this cat's peaceful visit to the forest will be disturbed soon.

"Blondie reporting in, I have eyes on the target," Natsumi said over the wireless connection, holding an eyepiece to her eye. She sounded completely serious, which was unusual for her.

"Duck ass reporting in, I will have eyes on the target," Sasuke said, his voice clear with irritation and malice. A small but still noticeable chuckle could be heard from Natsumi and ironically enough their sensei.

"Scarecrow reporting in, I have eyes on the ca- target," Kakashi said over the intercom, his voice clearly amused at the solution.

"Cherry Blossoms reporting in, I've had eyes on the target," Naruto said, his voice as ever stoic and completely unamused by the solution. His unamusement increased when in union with his sensei, sister, and teammate muttered 'arrogant bastard' under their breath which was picked up by their earpieces.

Of course, Naruto knew that both his sensei and sister did that purely to get under his skin, however, Sasuke might actually believe in that.

Having enough of their shenanigans, Naruto used his ever so growing speed and seemingly teleported right in front of the cat and picked her up.

Much to the surprise of Kakashi who has done this mission hundreds of times, the demon cat known as Tora didn't even try to fight back.

Unknowingly to Kakashi, Naruto was imbuing chakra in his arms which transferred to Tora because of the contact which effectively stopped the cat.

"Let's go, I have to do something more productive than this," Naruto said, without waiting for any words of confirmation he left the area.

Both Natsumi and Sasuke jumped down from their posts and looked toward each other, Natsumi shrugged and followed Naruto with Sasuke and Kakashi doing the same.

— In the Mission Control Room —

Hiruzen Sarutobi and Iruka Umino were sitting down in front of a massive table with multiple hundreds of scrolls in front of them.

Iruka usually helps the elderly but capable Hokage with organizing the scrolls for each type of mission.

Usually, the Hokage won't allow anybody but himself to do this task since all it takes is a traitor in his ranks to leak all the mission information to other countries, and not only are his shinobi's lives at risk but the villagers and the economy could be put at risk.

But to Hiruzen, Iruka was a trusted friend and like a grandson to him. He was quietly smoking his pipe while flipping through papers of economic and political reports in the elemental continent which usually are an up-and-coming political party with connections to criminal organizations being killed. That happens a lot more than you think.

Hiruzen sighed at all the violence that the world has experienced and flipped another page, but unexpectedly, his door was busted wide open to reveal Uzumaki Naruto holding Tora the Cat.

Hiruzen subconsciously smirked, "Of course, he was the fastest to reach and tame Tora," Hiruzen thought while taking another hit of his pipe, feeling the cancer flowing through his lungs.

Eventually, all of team seven entered his office, Kakashi looks casual with his face a mixture of lazy and bored at the same time. Natsumi was her usual self with her bright smile and cheerful aura. Sasuke was the same respectful emo with a little more emotional connection than before and Naruto was the same as ever stoic and somewhat lacking emotion.
