Sonic's POV

I got up from bed and checked the clock. I'm late. Well, screw it. If I'm already late why should I waste my time getting ready and in a hurry to class? It's not like the lecturer will welcome me anyway...what a weird thing to do to a student who's still willing to come to class if you ask me.

I head to the bathroom to do my business before going to the kitchen and make myself a breakfast.

My eyes burn, my nose hurts, my head is pounding. I think I'm a little pale too. This happen to me only because someone I care for in my dream doesn't know me in real life. Funny, right?

I prepared my breakfast, though it's fitting to be brunch now. I wash up the dishes then sat down on the couch while turning the TV on. I don't really pay attention, I just don't want the room to be really quiet.

I check my phone, as I figured I got five missed calls and a bunch of texts from Scourge. Class is still on going so I better not call him or text him back for now.

As I waste my time scrolling through social media, my screen is interrupted from a call from him. Class ended already? I picked it up and got ready for an earful from Scourge.

"Hey.."

"Where the fuck are you? Are you seriously skipping class?"

"Overslept."

"What? How long did you stay up last night?"

"I didn't stay up...I was just exhausted." I groaned.

"Well...I'm just glad you're still- uh- nevermind. Make sure to set up alarms on your phone for tomorrow, if you're late again I'm going to be the one waking you up."

"Heh, sure sure." I chuckled.

"Alright, don't forget to eat something. See ya."

"Yeah, bye." I said before hanging up.

I'm surprised that the only threat he gave me is to come and break my door to wake me up. I thought it'd be much worse.

I put my phone down and sigh tiringly. The TV is still on but my mind can't hear a single thing from it. I'm stuck thinking about my dream again.

This feeling is breaking my head. Am I in love? With a stranger? The same stranger that keeps appearing in my dream and offers me comfort and a sense of safety? I facepalm with both hands and groaned.

Being gay is fine but why do I have to top it off with being depressed...

I put my hands down and stare at the window, it seems sunny outside. I can't talk to Shadow, but maybe just looking at him from afar will ease my mind. If being a stalker is the only way to calm me down then screw it. At least I can calm myself, I don't know what I would do to myself if I can't.

I head out and make my way to Rose Brew. I walk in and walk to the counter, greeted by Amy as usual.

"Hi- oh, gosh are you alright?"

"Hi Amy." I smiled, "uh...yeah, why?"

"You're...um...pale." She chuckled nervously, "should you even be here?"

"Ah I'm just fine, don't worry" I chuckled back.

"Well if you say so." She sighed, "you want the usual?" She asked and I nodded.

"By the way, what's your name?" She asked again while tapping on the screen of her cash register.

"Sonic." I answered.

"Ah, nice to meet you." She smiled, "I'm starting to memorize my regulars, you included."

"That's how you know I need at least a cup of coffee a day." I joked and we both laughed.

"Well here you go, enjoy your stay." She finished making my drink and hand it over to me as I thank her.

I decided to sit somewhere else today, somewhere a little far from the window now that I know Shadow likes to sit around that spot too. I sit on an empty table near the corner, just surrounded by walls and artificial plants. A perfect spot to stalk people if I do say so myself. I can see the whole room from here.

I take my first sip then decided to open my phone. My ears perk whenever the door opens and I see the customers coming in. I just want to see Shadow, though.

After waiting for long enough, my heart starts racing when I see the familiar hedgehog coming in. He walk to the counter and ordered his drink before sitting down on the same spot as yesterday.

I hold my chest once again, I so badly want to go over to him and just...talk.

He have his laptop on and he seems to be doing his work. I don't know why but it's like he has a totally different personality from my dream. Hm, maybe I just don't get to know him yet, who knows he might act the same way like in my dream.

I sigh and rest my chin at the palm of my hand, I think I'm having a headache but I try to ignore it. Right now, all I care about is spend most of my time to be with him even if he doesn't notice me.

Shadow's POV

I'm so focused at work I didn't even realize it's almost 4 PM. As I turn my laptop off, my eyes caught a glimpse of someone familiar. I saw that same blue hedgehog from yesterday leaving the coffee shop. I didn't even notice he was here the whole time, where was he sitting?

I put my laptop away and got up from my seat. I once again head over to the counter.

"Excuse me, Amy?"

"Oh hello." She smiled.

"I have a question for you...what time does that blue hedgehog usually comes here?"

"Sonic? Depends, sometimes he comes at 12 and sometimes around 3 or 4 PM." She answered.

So his name is Sonic...

"I see, thank-"

"He loves iced caramel macchiato, just in case you need to know that too." She giggled.

"Haha, well thank you for that information." I chuckled and left the shop.

Hm, Sonic...what a peculiar hedgehog.
