Felix couldn't help but feel weirded out by the entire interaction with the brunette. He had been on his way to Hyunjin's house to hang out, when he had noticed a flash of light coming from the alleyway behind Basement Four, thinking it was some dumb human poking around where they shouldn't have been.
He had been correct.
Felix rubbed his face as he walked, trying to decide if his decision to tell Chan so much information was worth it - he knew what was at stake if Chan were to go run his mouth, so hopefully his departing threat was enough to keep the brunette quiet.
It's better for him to know a little and stop looking into it than keep digging and find out too much, Felix rationalised.
His mind thought back to the night he had bitten Chan - the sweet, euphoric feeling of his blood on his tongue, and the warmth of the boy as he slumped beneath his grasp. He remembered seeing the male bleeding out on the concrete, desperate to save himself and his friend. How the street lights illuminated his dark eyes, the crimson colour of his own blood staining his skin.
Why was it attractive?
Normally, when Felix attacked someone, he barely took enough time to make sure they were dead. He had killed enough people to know when they were a goner, and he was also smart enough to finish the job if they weren't. So, why did he save Chan?
Yes, it was true that saving him would have prevented the pair from having to bury another body, and by extension a missing persons investigation. But Felix knew he was lying to himself if he claimed that was the only reason. Something about Chan interested him.. perhaps it was his innocent outlook on the world, or his strive to do better. The fact he wasn't involved in any of the blonde's key lifestyle components happened to be a breath of fresh air. And hey, it helped that he wasn't difficult to look at. He was something new, and Felix couldn't help but see a bit of himself in the elder.
Felix let out a chuckle that was halfway between sinister and lighthearted. He wasn't sure if he liked that the brunette wasn't so scared of him, or if it frustrated him. He wasn't so sure if Chan himself knew why he wasn't apprehensive to speak to the blonde, or ask bold questions - one of which being the circumstances in which he was turned. Felix shook the memory out of his head, not wanting to have it brought to the front of his brain ever again. He had left that memory in the past, the only thing he took with him from the ordeal was his friendship with Hyunjin.
Finally reaching the latter's apartment, Felix knocked twice on the door, waiting for the elder to let him inside. He was greeted with a smile, before the ravenette's face contorted with confusion.
"Did you feed?" The taller asked, eyebrows scrunching up to match the rest of his face.
"No, did you?" Felix asked innocently, stepping past the threshold.
"No- it's just you smell like human." Hyunjin stepped closer to take another whiff.
Felix internally cursed, realising he had just departed from the brunette - of course his smell was all over him.
"I kind of stumbled upon our latest victim in the alleyway behind Basement Four." Felix admitted.
He could have lied, but one thing he did not do with Hyunjin was lie.
"Seriously?" Hyunjin's face relaxed slightly, only to show an irritated look. "What was he doing there?"
"Poking around, I guess." Felix shrugged, knowing the answer would not sit well with his friend.
"I knew we should've just finished them off. It's not too late to take care of them." Hyunjin huffed, grabbing his shoes from the door, suggesting he wanted to do it now.
