Ricky's POV:
The rest of the school day after my sudden anxiety attack after Mr. Mazarra pressed the horn at Big Red and Jet for sleeping in class went surprisingly well.
I am still bummed out about the fact that Jet didn't tell me how he found Mako or got water powers like I have.
I really enjoyed Advanced Language Arts since I was able to work on my vocabulary to speak with E.J more since he's in a grade higher than I am and I was able to write a bit about my experience on land during free write time.
I like Mr. Zara like E.J said I would. He didn't even give us homework but Mrs. Gold did.
Then I had gym glass with Big Red and Jet after Language Arts and discovered that I am not good at running or basketball which was today's activity since it's too cold to go outside.
My second to last class was Drama/ Theater with Miss Jenn was actually just a class I had with Gina, Nini, and I where Miss Jenn explained what the musical was and what we could do to help out such as set design, costumes and even being extras in the background. She explained to us that everyone else had auditioned for the musical already and had a free period while she was making the cast list. I even asked her if E.J audition for the musical twice because I am so excited to be a part of it.
Lastly, I had Pottery class and accidentally carved E.J's name into my pot when Gina was asking me if I could pass her one of the tools. It was honestly an accident. I really didn't mean to do it. I don't know why but something about him makes me feel calm and safe. Whereas, I never felt calm or safe around my parents because they were always fighting in our pod or ignoring each other.
Now, I'm at Miss Jenn's house waiting for her to bring us something called phones.
Nini said that she saw Ashlyn using one during Art class and Gina said she's observing humans use them lately.
It's still hard to believe that I have a pair of legs.
I'm a land boy.
"Okay kiddos, here's your phones. My phone number is already in the contact section. I expect each of you to call me when there's a mermaid or merman emergency. Don't text me, I won't read it. I have my settings on do not disturb and I am driving when I'm either in school working or out in the sea. You know what I mean." I see Miss Jenn holding 3 phones and a cat in one of her hands.
I've seen cats before walking on the land before when I had my tail.
"What's the cat's name? Omg, I've always wanted a pet! I want to play with her." I look over Gina who is playing with some of Miss Jenn's crystals and sitting next to Nini.
"Trina. She's a black cat that I adopted from the local shelter. She actually has powers too like you guys do, it's hard to explain what they are." I watch Miss Jenn place the cat on Gina's lap and instantly start sneezing and coughing.
"Ricky's allergic to cats Miss Jenn. We saw one on land one time when we were in our pod and he started sneezing under water. It wasn't a pretty scene." I hear Nini say while I'm covering my face with my elbow and sleeve and sneezing loudly.
Yeah, I'm definitely allergic to cats, magic cats and regular cats.
"Achoo! Miss Jenn, can I talk to you upstairs please?" I try to say in between sneezing and watch Nini hand me a tissue from Miss Jenn's potion table.
"Thanks Neens." I sneeze again into my hoodie sleeve and suddenly see my hand shoot out a bunch of water causing the cat to run out of Gina's arms.
That wasn't supposed to happen in Miss Jenn's basement/ cove.
