Ricky's POV:

I have been anxiously bouncing my leg up and down ever since I walked into school and I think that E.J. noticed my nervousness.

I'm so nervous because Maddox asked me to meet her in the student lounge today during lunch. Oddly enough, she asked me to meet her while everyone else is in the famous East High cafeteria. I don't know what she wants from me but I know I need to talk to her about Mako Island.

"Ricky, are you okay?" I feel a tap on my shoulder and see that the boy next to me is looking at me weirdly.

"Yeah, just uh nervous for a quiz later today." I lie through my teeth and realize my web of lies is starting since I am trying to leave early to meet Maddox.

A moment later, I raise my hand and the teacher stops pointing at the board and motions for me to walk out the door.

I've caught onto human life quite well.

Raising your hand means you need to be excused to go to the bathroom or lie about not wanting to be in class.

I learned a lot about acting and lying from Carlos and Seb.

I learned a lot from Kourtney already about drama in the human world.

And I learned that school suks here and that I need to keep talking to Jet and Maddox about Mako and Moon rings.

You can learn a lot by just listening or sitting in class doing nothing.

"Shit. Where am I going?" I mumble very quietly to myself as I exit the classroom and realize that the bathrooms are nowhere near this hallway.

"I don't know, where are you going?" I hear a familiar voice and lean against one of the lockers.

"E.J., what are you doing out of class?" I stare at my boyfriend and look at him curiously.

"I'm gonna ask you the same question, Ricky." I stare into his beautiful eyes and almost forget why ran out of class with my leg bouncing up and down.

"I don't know where I am going." I admit shyly while playing with my fingers.

"Were you trying to skip class because we have hall patrols around here?" I watch his voice start to get deeper and his face starts to change into a stricter expression.

"Uh yeah," I lie to the boy that I fell in love with while Nini and I were swimming near a yacht last summer.

"Ricky, I'm joking. This isn't middle school. People skip class all the time. I'm doing it too." I watch E.J. grasp onto my hand as my heart skips a beat.

"I can't hang out right now." I admit shyly while I hold onto his hand.

"Why not? I'm skipping my honors class because it's boring. I wanna hang out with you. I want to savor our time together." I watch his eyes droop and his head droops too.

Uh...

How do I tell him that I am headed to the student lounge to meet Maddox early to talk about something in private?

"I uh am talking to Miss Jenn about some of the water scenes on the pirate ship for the musical. Do you know Descendants 2 the musical we're in?" I quickly make something up so I can leave the hall.

"Oh, right. The whole dancing and ocean effects on stage and Carlos getting up-tight about it thing. I recall the movie doesn't have the pirates dancing near the ocean. You better go talk to her before something happens to your you know...tail" I watch him whisper the last word and get closer to me to place a gentle kiss on my cheek.
