Being a Shinobi (An Itachi Uchiha fanfiction)

1. History of Shinobi

Hello guys. I am back with another story. This is a concept I had in my head for so long. Suddenly I thought about how it would come out if I wrote the story with Naruto characters.

Hope you enjoy. First 2 chapters will help you understand the base of this AU better. It is kind of a Modern AU. Comment your thoughts and vote if you like it.

It was 8 year old Neji Hyuga's first day of Ninja Academy. He always wanted to be a shinobi just like his father eversince he died a couple years ago fighting an S class deviant saving several civilians. It was his uncle Hiashi who takes care of him.

Neji was known to be the gifted genius of the Hyuga clan, one of the 5 major clans of the shinobi world. The young Hyuga was determined to prove that he was worth all the trust his uncle has on him for becoming a splendid shinobi.

On his way he noticed someone, Itachi Uchiha. What on earth was he doing in the Ninja academy? He graduated almost 3 years ago when he was just 7. Neji didnt fail to notice the Uchiha's chunin vest. The Hyuga was somewhat jealous but always looked up to the Uchiha prodigy. Itachi Uchiha was talked about often among the shinobi.

Neji wanted to be like him. Someone worthy enough to be trusted to lead the clan. He may not be the son of the Hyuga clan's leader. But Hiashi Hyuga treated him like his very own son and he doesnt plan on disappointing his uncle. Neji bowed a little as a form of respect to the elder earning a firm nod from the Uchiha who then continued his conversation with the Jonin.

Neji wasnt the one to talk many words. So he just sat silently in his seat waiting for their teacher. "Oh man! I am so excited. I cant wait to become a shinobi and kick some deviants." Neji heard a voice and saw a boy with round black eyes and thick eyebrows.

"Mee too! I want to be just like Princess Tsunade. She is my inspiration." A girl with black hair in two buns replied. "Cant we just skip regular school and just attend the Ninja Academy? Attending regular school in the morning and academy in the evening is kinda annoying." Another girl huffed. "We cant do that. The existence of deviants and shinobi are kept a secret to normal people. We need to attend regular school if we have to blend in with them." The girl with black hair replied.

"The history of shinobi stretch over thousand years. The world has always been haunted by flesh eating monsters we call as deviants. They have been called by many different names, beasts, demons, devils you name it. They feed on human flesh for survival." The teacher explained while the students listened intently. Neji was aware of most information yet he didnt fail to take notes.

"The Jyuubi or the ten tailed beast was the most dangerous of all the deviants and was believed to have the power to control all the other deviants. The human race was almost in the brink of extinction when they were saved by a woman who was believed to have ascended from the heavens, our ancestor and the reason behind shinobi's existence, Kaguya Otsutsuki." The teacher continued.

"She defeated and sealed away the Jyuubi. The humans saw her as a godly being. Soon she gave birth to 3 children. Kazumi Otsutsuki, Haguromo Otsutsuki and Hamura Otsutsuki."

"After Lady Kaguya's death, the 3 siblings continued to spread peace and kill deviants for human's safety. Haguromo Otsutsuki who we now call as the Sage of Six Paths soon became the founder of Ninshu- the Ninja creed . He shared the reason behind his powers and strength called Chakra with other people and developed a community of peace. His brother Hamura also joined him."
