12. Kidnapped

Inora noticed it from the very beginning. She had her doubts but it was confirmed when they left after having lunch. Someone was definitely watching the both. Shisui didnt seem to have caught on and Inora didnt want to make it obvious so she kept her cool. She had no idea who they were after, whether it was Shisui or her.

Shisui has a lot of enemies. Let it be the shinobi world or normal. People are jealous and would do anything to be him. It could be a stalker for all she knows. It was actually kinda creepy and hella frustrating to act like everything is normal when you know that someone is watching your every move. She wasnt sure what to make of it. Are they trying to kill? Observe? Kidnap? What the hell do they want?

They were definitely good at what they were doing. Inora wasnt able to pinpoint the exact person but she was sure there were atleast a couple pair of eyes watching them. Inora noticed Shisui catching on when they went shopping for outfits. Shisui is an exceptional shinobi. If it took this long for him to notice their presence, they must be really good. Should Inora be worried? If they are after Shisui, she cant be in any danger. Can she? But if they are after her,

Inora watched as Shisui looked distressed and uneasy while they were at Ichiraku. She could tell that he was worried about her. You dont have to worry about me Shisui, I can handle myself. She wanted to say that to him but zipped her mouth shut and acted oblivious to her surrounding. Attracting unwanted attention and raising suspicion is like the last thing she wanted. Inora is nothing more than an innocent and a complete normal woman in her early twenties. Yes! Thats how it should be.

Shisui stopped the car infront of her apartment building. "Is you roommate home?" Shisui asked making her raise an eyebrow. 'Is this your way of ensuring my safety?' she thought. "I am not sure. She probably is." Inora replied. Nah! Mina is out clubbing. She wont be back until early morning. "Oh okay. Be careful." He said as she made her way into the building.

Inora entered her apartment after Shisui dropped her. She noticed someone following him too. As she began opening the apartment door, she couldnt help but notice it. 1.. no.. 2 of them were there. Waiting patiently. Both of them were shinobi. Why on earth are shinobi after her? There was no way they were here because they know who she is. Thats for sure. So why are they here? To take her as a hostage? To use her against Shisui?

That seems like a possible explanation. If thats true she had no choice but to play along until things could settle a little. Inora entered casually and went into her room. She really wanted to change her clothes but she wasnt going to give a free show to her uninvited guests. Make your move already. This is frustrating.

Inora made her way to the kitchen to get some water as she saw them swap their position making her roll her eyes internally. That wasnt discrete at all. But she played along. She looked around the kitchen as if she was panicked. Just as she turned around to place the water bottle back in the fridge they attacked. Inora did decide to play along but that doesnt mean she was going to pretend being a weakling. Inora was never by any means a weakling.

Inora dodged the attack of the person who rushed to knock her out. They didnt use a weapon which means they needed her alive. That was a good news. Inora turned around bearing a surprised expression on her face. "Who are you guys?" She exclaimed as the other one came to her view making her sigh internally. They were definitely good in blending in and observing but extremely shitty when it came to surprise attack.

You must never underestimate an opponent. Whether a shinobi or not. Perhaps nobody taught those morons that fact. The guy gasped in surprise as she dodged his first attack. Inora noticed how the 2 of them were wearing animal masks. The Anbu? No. Why on earth would Anbu come for her? This wasnt Anbu, just a cheap imitation. Then something clicked her mind.

Inora dodged their attack and stayed on defensive as they tried attacking her. Perks of being friends with Rock Lee who was the student of the best martial arts master ever, Mr. Might Guy. So good luck trying to fight her guys.

She could tell that they were surprised to see her dodge all their attacks and that gave her the opening to go offensive. Inora gave one hell of a punch and knocked one of them down. Something suddenly pierced her neck making her hiss. It was a sleeping drug. "We need her alive. Dont do anything to her." She heard a voice as she fell unconscious.

Fu Yamanaka stood up and wiped the blood from his nose. He saw as his friend Torune Aburame tie up the woman they were supposed to kidnap, Inora Ashido. They didnt expect her to be this strong. They didnt want to use any jutsu on a non-shinobi. Fu was this close to using his mind transfer jutsu on her until Torune shot her with a sleeping drug.

An hour later, they reached the hideout in the outskirts of the city. Fu carried Inora as Torune went to report to Lord Danzo. He carried her to the basement and placed her inside what seemed like a prison cell and locked her in. His face was swollen from the punch he took from her. He wont be surprise if he has a broken nose either. Soon he heard footsteps and saw Torune along with Lord Danzo.

Danzo looked inside the cell and saw the unconscious brunette making him smirk. He then looked at Fu and raised an eyebrow at his state. "The 2 of you went to kidnap a woman who isnt a shinobi and got injured." He said shaking his head in disappointment. "We are extremely sorry Lord Danzo. We didnt expect her to be that strong." Torune said. "Send a picture of this young woman to Shisui Uchiha. Your mission is complete. You may go now." Danzo said looking at the two of them.

Danzo Shimura, a student of the 2nd Hokage Tobirama Senju. He was one of the advisors of the shinobi council and the leader of an independent Anbu unit called the Foundation. He was extremely against the ways of Hiruzen Sarutobi and Minato Namikaze. He was a part of lot of illegal activities and dirty work.

Minato dissolved the foundation after knowing about some of his illegal activites. As soon as Danzo came to know about Hiruzen's death and the existence of an Otsutsuki clan member, he chose retirement from being a shinobi to prevent himself from being caught. Atleast thats what it is on the outside but he is still a power hungry old prick behind the scenes.

"Do you really think Shisui Uchiha will take the bait?" Danzo heard a familiar voice as the both left. "He has no other choice. He cant bare to see his girlfriend in danger now can he?" Danzo replied with an annoying smirk. "You dont have to act like you are unconscious." The other person said looking at Inora who was trying hard not to move. Inora opened her eyes and looked around nervously taking in her surroundings.

"I am surprised to know that you managed to hurt a well trained man." He said looking straight in her eyes. "Who on earth are you guys? Why am I here?" Inora asked looking at the both of them. "Nothing personal. You are just a bait to catch your little boyfriend." Danzo replied making Inora scrunch her nose in confusion.

"What the hell does that supposed to mean? I dont have a boyfriend." Inora said looking at the old guy. Danzo chuckled "So you are telling me he kissed you and drop you home from work like almost everyday and go on dates with you but he is not your boyfriend?" He asked mockingly.

"You are misunderstood. He is definitely not my boyfriend and we didnt kiss for heaven's sake." Inora shouted making the other guy chuckle. "She is an interesting one. You dont mind if I use her as a test subject. Do you?" He asked Danzo. "I dont mind as long as I get what I want." He replied leaving the basement.

"I am actually surprised that you are awake so soon. My drugs tend to knock down people like you for atleast half a day." He said looking at her like she was a prey. "You would make the perfect test subject to try out the new drug I prepared." He said with a sinister smile but was surprised to see Inora laugh.

"I would love to see you try Orochimaru."
