Being a Shinobi (An Itachi Uchiha fanfiction)

28. Are you an enemy?

"Mom! Dad!" Sasuke exclaimed, his eyes getting glossy. "Its okay Sasuke. We are dead. You need to get past us." Fugaku said calmly. "But..." Sasuke started only to be interrupted by his brother. "Pull yourself together Sasuke. This isnt the time to get emotional. As of now, they are the enemies." Itachi said firmly. Sasuke really wanted to scream at his brother for saying that but he knew he was right. He cant afford to get emotional now.

He directed all his bubbling anger towards Kabuto. He needs to go and kill Kabuto and for that he needs to get past his own parents. Thats going to be one hell of a task.

The fight between the parents and sons ended as Sasuke engaged them to give an opening to his brother and Itachi used the Totsuka blade to seal them away. They both came face to face with Kabuto who instead of using the time to run away stood boldly to attack them. Both Uchihas noticed he completely looked like a white snake. A proper sage transformation, something Orochimaru wasmt able to achieve.

After hearing Kabuto say about his life in frustration as they fight, Itachi felt nothing but sorry for his foe. So he used Izanami on him losing light on one of his eyes forever and putting Kabuto under a never ending loop. Sasuke was kinda upset that his brother didnt go for a kill but he respected his decision. As soon as the jutsu was released, they both heard the voice of Shikaku Nara through Inoichi's jutsu.

"Yes. Kabuto Yakushi is restrained and the jutsu has been released." Itachi gave the confirmation he needed while Sasuke was on deep thought. Shikaku informed them about what was happening. He told them about the real Madara who was reanimated and asked them to join Naruto to help against the fake one. He also told them that Shinya was taken.

After the conversation with the Nara clan leader, Itachi noticed his brother spaced out thinking about something. "I believe we will need some help." Sasuke said his eyes on a passed out Anko who Kabuto was using to gain chakra from her curse mark Orochimaru gave when someone joined them. It was Jugo, Suigetsu and Karin. Itachi's old acquantainces. Itachi understood what Sasuke was implying.

Despite not wanting to involve further with snakes, he cant help but feel that would be a good idea. Itachi watched silently as Sasuke managed to bring back Orochimaru from the curse mark seal in Anko. He cant help but remember the time when Sasuke decided to stray from his path and joined Orochimaru. If it werent for Naruto, Sasuke still would have been walking the wrong path. He was broken from his thoughts as Orochimaru emerged with an annoying smirk on his face.

Sasuke, Jugo and Itachi made their way towards Naruto and the others to join them in the battlefield after Orochimaru agreed to help them. Orochimaru, Karin and Suigetsu made their way towards where Tsunade and others were injured because of Madara.

Itachi, Sasuke and Jugo joined the battlefield along with the others where they learned that the fake Madara was the Fourth Hokage's student, Obito Uchiha. By the time they reached there, everyone noticed Obito having sharingan in one eye and rinnegan in the other.

Everybody knew Pain was the one with the rinnegan and Shinya was dealing with him. But seeing Obito with the rinnegan and the fact Shinya hasnt returned yet worried the ones in the battlefield. Itachi looked at Minato for an explanation but he also didnt seem to have an answer.

Naruto, Kakashi and Guy who faced Obito head on before they came explained that he didnt have the rinnegan when they faced him before and he appeared out of his time space with a rinnegan in his left eye just recently. Obito had several S class deviants under his control and the rinnegan gave him much more stability. Kakashi noticed that Obito had somewhat an irritated expression after he mysteriously recieved the rinnegan.

Reanimated Madara and Obito stood on top of a giant deviant. All the shinobi tried immobilizing it and go for the both of them. But it was futile. The giant monster was powerful. It suddenly started spitting out large mass of chakra surprising everyone. It became clear that it was no regular deviant. It was a result of experiment. A genetically engineered deviant.
