Being a Shinobi (An Itachi Uchiha fanfiction)

15. Recovery

"Any last words?" Inora asked with a sweet smile. Within a millisecond a bunch of snakes emerged from the Sannin's hand but was shocked to see her killing those without even blinking. "You would make a great specimen." The snake sannin said with a evil grin making her chucke. "Bring it on snake boy."

Orochimaru grinned and brought out his long tongue just like a snake. Suddenly his head elongated and came towards Inora which she managed to dodge in the last second. "You are impressive but not impressive enough." The sannin said as they engaged in a heated battle. "You are not here for Shisui are you? You just wanted to use Shisui to get to Itachi." Inora commented as she stayed on the defensive effectively dodging all his attacks waiting for a sure opening. 

"No wonder they hired you. You are good." He commented making her chuckle. "Thanks for the compliment." Suddenly Inora appeared behind Orochimaru in a split second surprising him. She was about to kick him but he caught her ankle before it could reach his face. "Thats not enough to defeat me." He said with a shit eating grin tightening the grip in her ankle ready to throw her but before he could do anything she used her other leg to hold him in a choke hold.

But he managed to bring forth his snakes making Inora to release him and fall a few steps backwards. Soon she was completely trapped in his snakes as they were squeezing the life out of her. "Dont worry, I wont kill you." Orochimaru said but was shocked to see his snakes evaporating into thin air. Inora used that opening to hit her palm right on his heart which sent him a few steps backwards.

He then suddenly started to breath heavily. Something felt wrong with him. He couldnt perform any jutsu nor infuse his chakra making his eyes widen "What did you do?" He screamed like a madman as he launched himself at Inora. Both of them engaged in a heated taijutsu battle. A few minutes later, Inora clicked her tongue in disappointment. "I really wanted to be the one to do it." She said as she sensed a familiar presence and he used the moment to grab her by her throat and pin her to the wall harshly.

But he was surprised to see an annoying smirk on her face. She then screamed confusing him. "What did you do to me?" He asked his eyes full of rage. Inora could feel that she was bleeding a little and her vision was blurry from how hard he was squeezing her throat. "Mr.Itachi is just my boss. I dont know anything about him." She said in a weak voice confusing him. The Sannin was too engrossed in the woman infront of him to notice another presence. Suddenly he felt all his chakra come back as the door was burst open revealing none other than Itachi Uchiha making his eyes widen.

Orochimaru understood the reason behing her sudden weak act. "You damn bitch. You will d.." before he could complete his sentence Inora fell slump in his hand exactly at the same time Itachi's sharingan swirled into a different pattern trapping the sannin in a tsukuyomi.

Inora opened her eyes and found herself in an unfamiliar surrounding. She was in a bed with bandages covering her head and few scratches in her arms and ankle. She saw Mina curled up in a small couch in the room. Suddenly someone entered the room who Inora recognized as Sakura. "Sakura?" Inora asked confused. "Oh Inora! You are awake. How are you feeling?" Sakura asked with a smile. "Umm. I am feeling okay I guess. Where am I?" Inora asked.

"You are in my house. My clinic is downstairs. You were brought here last night because of your injuries." Sakura explained. "You dont have to worry Inora. Those guys were taken care of. Shisui, Itachi and Sasuke took care of them." Sakura continued. "I see." Inora said nodding as she asked for some water. "Mina was really worried. So was Shisui and Itachi. Both of them were here all night, they just left 20 minutes ago. Oh! And Itachi told me that you can take a week off." Sakura said as she left to bring her some food.

Mina woke up as she heard voices and saw her friend awake. "Inora! You scared me dammit." She said hugging her tight. "Mi.. mina.. I cant.. breath.." Inora said making her release her tight grip. "How are you feeling?" She asked concern all over her face. "I feel fine Mina. I am strong you know." Inora replied with a smile. "What happened to those guys?" Inora asked. "Since Sasuke is a part of the Leaf's police force, things were taken care of. You are safe now. They were just some old business enemies of Shisui." Mina lied smoothly making Inora smile at her creative lie.

"I am glad everybody is fine. Those guys were kinda scary." Inora said making the other sigh. "You must be stupid to fight against them Inora. You have martial arts training but that doesnt mean you can just go fighting somebody so dangerous." Mina said genuinely concerned. "I cant just let them use me as a hostage." Inora huffed making the other roll her eyes. "You are a stubborn idiot." Mina said as Sakura entered with some food. "Thank you Sakura. I really appreciate it." Inora said genuinely thankful earning  a smile from the said pinkette.

Inora was free to go but was adviced to take a lot of rest. Mina and Inora were back in their apartment. The brunette was engulfed in a large hug as soon as she entered the apartment by none other than Naruto and Lee "Are you okay? We were worried." Lee asked making Inora smile. "I am fine. Now if you both let go of me I can breath." She said making them break the hug. The news about Orochimaru and Danzo's death spread like wildfire. Neji, Naruto, Lee and Tenten were shocked to know that Inora was involved and rushed to see her.

"Is that for me?" Inora asked smiling sheepishly as she saw Neji standing there with a bag full of her favourite candies. "Yeah!" He said handing her the bag making her jump in excitement. The 5 of them saw her running to her room as if she didnt get kidnapped by a group of rogue shinobis just a little less than 12 hours ago. "She sure is one brave woman." Tenten commented making the others nod their heads. "Ofcourse she is." Naruto said with a grin.

The 4 friends left a couple hours later since they had their jobs and Mina took a day off even though Inora insisted that she would be fine alone. Then they heard a knock on the door. Mina opened it revealing Shisui. "Hey Shisui!" Inora greeted happily but he didnt return the energy making her frown in confusion. His eyes told everything she needed. He was guilty for bringing her into his mess.

"Inora.. I.." He started but was interrupted by the brunette. "Dont you dare blame yourself for this. You also risked your life coming there alone." She said surprising the Uchiha. "You are not mad?" He asked making her laugh. "Why on earth would I be mad? They were stupid to think we were dating in the first place. But I do appreciate you coming to rescue me." Inora replied making him sigh in relief. "Soo.. what time is the party?" She asked making him blink in confusion when it clicked him.

He completely forgot about the party today for which they both went shopping. "Dont tell me you forgot." Inora said looking at him with an eyebrow raised. "The party is in the evening. I still have time." Shisui replied with a chuckle as Mina brought tea for all of them. "What party?" Mina asked. "Shisui's dream girl has her brithday party today." Inora said making Mina choke on her tea.

She looked at Shisui wide eyed. "Today is.. you mean.. Holy shit! Dont tell me you are actually after Hana." Mina exclaimed making the Uchiha blush. "Hana? Who is that?" Inora asked Mina in confusion. "Hana Inuzuka was a classmate of me and Itachi. Kiba is her younger brother. Today is her birthday. I also was invited for her party." Mina explained making Inora look at Shisui for an explanation. "Yeah. It is Hana." He replied making Mina squeal in excitement. "This is going to be fun." She said with a wide smile.

"I will be fine alone Mom!" Inora huffed in annoyane as Mina wouldnt shut her mouth advicing her to be careful as she got ready for Hana's birthday party. Mina was ready to cancel the plan but Inora insisted on her going and that she doesnt need a babysitter. "I appointed someone else to babysit you. He should be here any minute. Dont burn the house trying to cook." Mina shouted as she left making Inora blink in confusion and frustration.

A few minutes later she heard a knock and was surprised to see Itachi. "Mr. Uchiha?" She asked blinking in confusion. "Mind if I come in?" He asked as she broke free from her thoughts and let him in. "How are your injuries?" He asked as he took a seat. "Umm.. I am fine.. Mina told me you came to rescue me. I am grateful sir." She said. "Its okay. I am also partially responsible for that and you can call me Itachi." He said casually looking around.

Itachi could sense the confusion in her. "Suit yourself Inora. I am staying until Mina comes back." He said making her eyes widen. "Mr. Uch.. I mean.. Itachi you dont have to bother yourself. I am fine." She said. "I insist. I hope I am not a bother." He said making her shake her head in denial immediately. "No. No. Thats not it." She said and sighed giving up. It was kinda awkward so Inora spoke to break the silence. "Wanna watch a movie?" She asked to which he agreed. This is going to be a long night.
