POV: Ritu
He was asking me on a date. I don't have time for dating. Still, I could use a break from studying and he is fun to be around. What the hell. I gave him my number and told him to call me with details. I think he was as surprised as I was. His goofy grin was replaced by a gaping mouth. For a few seconds he was speechless. Then the goofy grin returned, but before he could say anything the professor came in and started class.
All during the class Roger kept looking over at me like he was expecting me to change my mind. I didn't. Probably just to thwart his expectations and perhaps my own. It serves us right. How dare we make assumptions about what I might or might not do.
