Nagito feels like he's going to die. Specifically, of suffocation.
Which isn't really a surprise, since he felt like that on a daily basis. Either that, or he just wished he could be suffocated.
It's just that this was about the 'date' with Hajime. It maybe kind of made Nagito feel like he couldn't breathe. Not that it's a date. Just an outing. Between two friends. Nagito did not think Hajime was pretty and did not replay the moment he crashed into Hajime's chest every night. Nope. Completely platonic.
Hm, maybe that's why he feels like he's being suffocated.
"Hey Komaeda." Hajime's voice snaps Nagito out of his thoughts.
Wait fuck when did Hajime get here-
Hajime's in a simple outfit- a white shirt and a tie, paired with black pants. Somehow, this makes Nagito feel like a clown standing next to him.
"Hinata!" he smiles (awkwardly). "Let's... let's go."
He realises it's probably a better idea to make some conversation first, and curses his social incompetence.
Hajime looks as if he's about to respond as they start walking, but something catches his eye across the street, where the coffee shop is. "Hey, is that Sonia?" ...Or someone.
Nagito turns his head. "Oh, it is. Sonia!"
Sonia, in response to her name, looks up and meets Hajime and Nagito's gazes. "Komaeda! Hinata! Hello!" She calls out, walking toward them.
"What are you doing here?" Hajime asks.
"I was just leaving the coffee shop," Sonia replies cheerfully. "They serve wonderful coffee. What are you two doing here?"
Hajime steals a glance at Nagito. "Ah... um..."
A date, the wishful and desperate side of Nagito's mind screams.
"Oh, a date?" Sonia questions.
...Did he say that out loud?
The logical side of Nagito's mind screams, NAGITO YOU STUPID HOMOSEXUAL!!!!
Hajime stares at him and so does Sonia.
"We wanted to go get coffee." Nagito covers up his slip-up quickly, attempting to speak in a nonchalant tone.
"Wh- yeah," Hajime says, nodding slowly. "Coffee."
"Oh. Ah, have fun!" Sonia's eyes dart between Hajime and Nagito before she leaves.
