★ ! K- akashi practically begged for the
two teams to take on this mission together. something about teamwork, but what really caught her attention was she'd be able to keep an eye on her son.
which is what brought them to now.
"just walk up the tree." y/n shrugged, focusing her chakra in her feet before walking up to the highest branch. kakashi followed her movements on one the other trees while on crutches from a previous mission.
"focus most of your chakra to your feet & walk." kakashi hummed, jumping off the tree and looking at his students. "your turn."
y/n jumped off also, looking at her students who nodded in understanding; only hanako actually getting it her first try.
"this is so easy!" she hummed, standing on the highest branch. haruki & kenji's eyes twitched. no it wasn't.
"don't overwork yourself & make sure to come in for dinner." y/n hummed, walking off to allow the students to learn.
"she didn't give us shit." kenji sighed, putting his foot on the tree before falling over.
"yes she did." hanako sighed, coming down from the tree. "just focus." she chuckled, putting her finger on kenji's head.
"i am focusing!" he sighed, spreading out on the floor. she chuckled and shrugged, looking over at haruki who was having just as much trouble.
"you two are terrible at this..." she mumbled, looking over at how team 7 was doing.
sakura had made her way up the tree easily while naruto & sasuke were in the same boat as kenji & haruki.
"hey sakura!" she yelled, seeing as the pink haired girl was resting on the tree. "wanna go in with me?"
"yeah!" sakura replied, walking down the tree. she'd come to like hanako. that was kinda it. she wasn't fond of kenji because he reminded her of naruto & haruki barely spoke a word.
the two girls went in, leaving the four boys to try & get up the tree on their own. it wasn't going very well.
sasuke & naruto had an unspoken challenge going on. kenji & haruki were, hesitantly, working together on how to do this.
they'd been going damn near all night & none of them had made any progress.
"this is stupid." naruto huffed, leaning on the tree.
"i agree." kenji mumbled, looking up at the sky where the sun was starting to set.
"dinners in a few. should we go in?" haruki asked, looking over at his blonde teammate who shrugged.
"you two should also. i hear y/n sensei's scary when she's mad..." kenji mumbled, standing up when naruto & sasuke nodded.
sasuke was well aware that y/n was horrifying when she was mad.
dinner was ready & the four sat at the table. naruto & sasuke made eye contact before the two shoved food down their throats.
"seconds please!" the two yelled at the same time, giving each other a distasteful look.
"hey, slow down..." y/n mumbled, "you'll get sick-"
as soon as those words came out, the two turned over & threw up.
y/n sighed, shaking her head softly.
"i said don't overwork yourself." she hissed, making sasuke & naruto stiffen.
"we're not, y/n!" naruto laughed nervously.
"y/n sensei." sasuke corrected.
"you get to call her mom, i'm calling her y/n!"
"because she's my mom." sasuke added, irritated by the blonde who was almost fuming.
she sighed softly, eating her food as if the two weren't even fighting.
the next day, the four were back outside. sakura & hanako went out for food and y/n hesitantly took care of kakashi since he was still on crutches.
haruki had made it up the tree and was a tad bit shocked by it.
"hey, help me!" kenji yelled, making the male nod. he gave the blonde some tips he'd gotten from hanako that helped him & next kenji was up the tree.
naruto & sasuke both looked at each other. they hesitantly walked up to the two who were giving each other a high five.
"can you... tell us the tips you learned." sasuke mumbled, looking away.
"huh?" haruki asked, a tad bit surprised he was having such a hard time with this considering he could just ask his mom.
haruki shrugged and told them what hanako said. it didn't help either naruto or sasuke much which lead to the two to be out late at night once again.
but finally. the two got it.
"aw! i'm so proud of you!" y/n beamed, poking sasuke's forehead when he told her the good news that night. he rubbed the spot with a wince.
