★ ! Y- n had just gotten to the stadium.
just in time too. the fight was gaara v sasuke, however, sasuke wasn't there yet.
"you're late." asuma sighed, watching the girl wave him off & sit beside him giddily. "your son is too."
she finally looked down at the fighting ground and noticed genma & gaara standing by themselves.
"genma just said he was gonna disqualify sasuke." kurenai stated from the other side of asuma. "go flirt & i bet he'll get more time added on!" she joked.
it was no secret when they were all teenagers that genma had a silly crush on the girl. hence, why he did almost anything & everything she asked. hell, he would've died for her.
she waved kurenai's joke off, going down to the fighting range to speak with genma.
"gen-ma!" she hummed, making the male roll his eyes. "what's going on?"
"i thought you'd know. kakashi isn't here either so... i guess sasuke's with him." genma shrugged, looking at the girl who slowly walked up to him. "i'm gonna have to dis-"
"no! no." she shook her hands dramatically, "give him a little time. you know kakashi's never on time... plus, i am his mother after all." she chuckled, hoping genma would rethink the decision.
though she knew it was the rules, she also knew genma could never say no.
"fine." he tsk'ed, "five more minutes. if he's not here by then, he's disqualified."
"thank you, thank you, thank you genma!" she beamed, hugging the taller male who sighed. "i could kiss you right now!"
"okay, n/n. get off of me." he sighed, pushing her head away from him while she bounced on her feet happily. "i'll still take that kiss though." he joked.
she playfully hit his arm before giving him a friendly kiss on the cheek. the two stood and waited. 4 minutes had already gone by, the 5 minute mark was close & y/n was getting anxious.
"sorry, n/n." genma mumbled, watching the clock tick slowly.
"another minute, please." y/n stated, her heartbeat was increasing every second. she bit her lip anxiously while genma softly shook his head.
"i've done everything i can. i'm so sorry-"
as soon as those words left gemma's mouth, there they were. appeared out of literal thin air; kakashi & sasuke.
"ah!" y/n excitedly stated, she ran over to sasuke and gave him a hug to which he shook his head at. "okay, you got this! remember, crush the competition."
