age: 28★ ! Y- n didn't leave her house for days.
it left many people to wonder if she was okay or even alive. kakashi gave her space, until it came up to the third week & he wasn't even so sure if she was alive himself.
he knocked on her door, holding her favorite ramen. there was no answer & the door was locked; therefore, he took the opportunity to break into her house.
"y/n!" he called out, taking his shoes off. the whole house was cold & dark, giving the same eerie feeling it did when her mother died.
he finally found her in her room, facing away from the door.
"y/n." he called out once again, only for her to ignore him. she read over the same note sasuke left her. he kind of wondered how many times she'd read that note.
he sat the bag of ichiraku's ramen on her side table before sitting down on the bed beside her. the two sat in silence, collecting their thoughts.
"sorry." she mumbled quietly, sitting up. kakashi rose an eyebrow, he'd never really heard her mumble that word before.
he quietly nodded, handing her the food he brought her as the two sat in a comfortable silence.
for once in her life, she was glad kakashi came.
"how're my students?" she asked, looking over at kakashi. since there was no hokage at the moment there weren't many missions. & since she wasn't feeling well mentally, kakashi took it upon himself to lump her students in with his.
"they're doing good. hanako still wants to learn medical ninjutsu." kakashi hummed softly, making her nod & mentally note that when she's better she'd teach her that.
"and how's your students holding up?" she asked, looking over at the male.
"they're fine. naruto swears he's bringing sasuke back." kakashi sighed, leaning back on the bed to get more comfortable.
she nodded. she knew naruto was always ambitious & could never see anyone he knew do any wrong.
"right..." she mumbled. he reminded her so much of minato. "thank you."
"anytime." kakashi mumbled softly, moving to lay beside her while she quietly ate. his presence was enough.
a knock was heard at y/n's door. kakashi had fallen asleep on her bed since it was now late night. she wondered who it could've been, especially at this time.she yawned, opening the door to see shikamaru who was nonchalantly standing with his hands in his pockets.
"you still owe me a shogi match." he mumbled, taking in her appearance. "damn you look bad."
"thanks shika." she laughed, letting the male in. he made his way to her living room and patiently waited for her to set up the shogi board.
as the two played quietly, shika took another glance over at the older girl.
"how're you feeling?" he asked, watching her take a shaky breath before moving her piece on the board.
"horrible. i just lost the one thing that gave my life meaning." a dry chuckle left her lips before analyzing the board. she was gonna win.
and she did.
"just let it out. i'm not good at comfort though..." shika sighed, closing his eyes as he tried his best to think of ways to comfort the older girl.
she smiled. his efforts were always so sweet. she knew shika didn't care about the shogi game, he just wanted to come comfort her.
she reached over and hugged the male; catching him off guard.
"thank you, shika."
