Jordan's POV

January 2nd

And so another chapter begins...

"Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday, Dear Justice. Happy Birthday to you!" we sing and Justice is hysterical by all of the commotion.

His tiny hands clasp together and the yard fills with his giggles. I look over at Gabby she's crying.

Justice could hiccup and she would cry.

I share many of her sentiments. I just don't show it as much as she does.

Evidently, I have two babies.

She uses the back of her hands to wipe away the tears and when she pushes her hair behind her ears and allow her eyes to meet mine, she becomes shy under my gaze.

I smirk at her and she scrunches her nose at me.

A ritual at this point.

I stand in front of them both and aim my camera at them. Justice's slobber filled lips purse when he sees me and Gabby can't help but giggle.

I've added photography to my arsenal recently. Painting and interior designing will always hit home but by the way Justice is growing, I need to capture every moment.

He signs for cake and Gabby gives him his personal cake to smash while she cuts the bigger cake for the other little kids.

Not plenty of little kids but enough for the small cake she ordered. It's mostly her little cousins and a few of the younger girls from the studio.

While I've drawn an attachment to photography, Gabby has released herself from the shackles of her previous rules.

Her age limit for the studio has become 6 instead of 13. She plans on making the number lower once she's mentally capable.

I know the physical aspect isn't the problem.

Right now she's taken on a lot with the younger girls and in all actuality, I believe it's just an excuse to continue to bring Justice to work with her everyday.

He has kids close in age to play with.

Which is a perk of working of yourself but she can't keep doing it.

She doesn't seem to agree though.

I look up from my camera roll and meet her beautiful gaze. I don't know what she's finding so funny while she looks at me.

She's smiling and even though it's the best sight, it brings the worst feelings. I can't get my mind off of the news I received yesterday. News that might dampen this very smile.

I shake it out of my mind.

I walk up to her and wrap my arms around her waist. She tries go pry my hands off, as usual, but I grip her tighter and kiss her cheek.

"Jordan...the kids," she says pulling her face away. I look around and not one of them could care any less.

Not even Justice and he still hasn't shaken the sense of possession he has over his mother when it involves me.

"They're eating their cake. They'll be okay," I say and I peck her neck.

"Go away," she giggles. I take her wish as my command. Well...partly. I release her and begin to walk away. However, not before I take a piece of Justice's smash cake and smear it on her nose.

The look Justice gives me.

If they could kill...

"No," he says mugging me. He can look as intimidating as his mother when he's ready.
