Gabby's POV
•€•
January 1st

He balls his fists and from where I'm standing, every vein in the left side of his face is visible. The shadow from the light doesn't allow me to see his right side.

But I'm sure the image doesn't contradict the one in my mind.

"How many times did I ask you?" he asks and I'm stuck with my bottom lip between my teeth. I've come to terms with the fact that nothing I say will settle him right now.

I was seconds away from sleep before he barged into the bathroom.

I've never seem him this angry.

"Fucking answer me, Gabby," he slams his hand against the sink and I jump, startled.

"Just calm down...please," I plead. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. He scoffs.

He starts pacing and I just watch him.

The water continues to cascade into the sink but my feet feel cemented to the ground. The sound is deafening in the silence.

"It meant nothing. It wasn't my fault. I promise I-," I say and with that, I don't even register his movements before I'm being pinned against the glass shower door.

I turn my head, my ear against the door as the droplets from the water I just used to cleanse my body rings against my eardrums.

"It meant nothing? You fucking lied to me over nothing?" he snarls.

I widen my eyes at him. The tears come faster and harder than they were a second ago. His body is completely pressed against me, the button from his jeans pressing against my stomach that's only shielded by a t- shirt.

"I'm sorry...please," I say softly through tears but his grip tightens. I whimper.

"Don't play innocent now," he breathes.

"Stop it," I squeal. The breath from his flaring nostrils is hot on my forehead and I turn away. I don't even have enough strength to turn my wrist even a centimeter.

"Look at me," his voice is threatening. But I don't dare.

"You're hurting me. Let go," I sniffle, my gaze still averted.

"You hurt me," he says angrily...

I finally look at him. I don't recognize him like this.

He's far from the man I know and love.

I'm scared shirtless.

The water just continues to run.
...

"Gabby," I feel a hand run across my back and I flinch. I look up and Jordan has his face scrunched at me. "Hey, you okay?" he asks. I look up at his concerned eyes and nod up at him as he stands beside me.

"Mmhmm...I just didn't hear you coming," I say.

I swear I continue to zone out so often and when I've regained consciousness, I don't even remember what had my mind in such a blur.

Well...partly.

Only bits and pieces and they never make sense. They just leave me feeling weird afterwards. Even Jordan standing over me like this is making me a bit queasy.

"Well, I was saying that I was going to pick some stuff up. I'll be right back," he says with a peck on my cheek. I nod but I don't say much.

"Sure you're alright?" he asks.
