I looked down at my phone and smiled at the notification. It was a message from Catarina regarding a surprise I had planned for Stephanie. Although, it had been a couple of weeks since the incident, she was still not fully herself. I hoped that with the present I had prepared she would cheer up.
"One black coffee with no sugar," Stephanie said as she placed the paper cup in front of me. She walked around the desk and planted a quick kiss on my cheek.
"Thank you my love." I grabbed her hand and placed a kiss on the back of it.
"Today you have a meeting with the representatives from Tiff's. They want to discuss the possibility of having Samantha or Catherine model their new jewelry collection. They also want to see if you will be willing to invest one-hundred thousand for a twenty-five percent share." Stephanie scrolled through the iPad. Her brows furrowed together as she noticed something. "That's weird. Did you cancel your meeting with the Moretti's?"
I tried my best to hold back my smirk. I stood up and buttoned up my blazer before wrapping my arms around her waist.
"I did not want to tell you anything until everything was finalized, but we have a date tonight. I felt it was only right after going almost four months without a proper date." I rolled my thumbs on either side of her hips as I waited for her reaction.
"But what about the Moretti's? Didn't we plan tonight's dinner to talk to them about Lorenzo?"
Not the reaction I was hoping for.
Ever since the incident, Stephanie had been more hands-on in the mafia business. She knew that finding Lorenzo and stopping him was important and she was there to help me every way possible. I knew she was doing it to distract herself, but I wanted to provide a much more lighthearted way to do so. Hence why I planned the date for tonight.
"Lorenzo has not done anything this far. It's been months and we haven't found him. I know it's important to find him, but we deserve a night out to ourselves. Don't you think?" I asked as I cupped her frowning face in my hands.
"I guess your right," Stephanie hummed.
"Of course I am. Now come on, turn that little frown upside down. Aren't girlfriends supposed to be excited over these types of things?" I teased.
Stephanie's pouty lips curved into a shy smile.
"So where is it that we are going?" She asked curiously.
"It is a surprise, my Angel. But, I know you're going to love it," I said with a happy smile.
"Well, I can't wait." Stephanie grinned up at me.
I leaned down to kiss her, but the beeping of her phone stopped me. Stephanie pulled out her phone and frowned.
"Duty calls. I have to go pick up the photos from yesterdays photoshoot," Stephanie said.
