I am the best friend of Xavier Thorpe. I wish I could say I was more but sadly I can't. I had the biggest crush on him since we met but he seems to have his eyes set on someone else. For the last few weeks he's been blowing me off because of Wednesday Addams. Whenever we hangout, she shows up, makes me leave and Xavier doesn't do anything to stop her. Today was one of those days.

Me and Xavier had been in his art shed painting all types of things. I look over at him and he looks really cute when he's focused. His eyes snap up from his painting to mine. He starts smiling. "I know, I'm that mesmerizing that you can't take your eyes off me." He said and made a light-skin face. "Ain't no way you just did that." I laugh "and no, I just saw a booger hanging from your nose and I'm wondering how you don't feel that." "He quickly wipes his nose and I start laughing really hard at that.

The door swings open and Wednesday steps inside. Xavier quickly gets up and covers that painting he was working on, with a white sheet. "I need to speak with you Xavier." She looks at me and says "Alone." I mean mug her cause who is she to tell me to leave when I was here first. I look over at Xavier and he gives me a pity look. I roll my eyes and scoff. I grab my things and walk out.

I walk all the way back to Nevermore and I receive a text from Xavier.

I'm sorry y/n maybe we can reschedule.

I left him on seen. How's he gonna invite me out and then have me leave the moment Wednesday shows up. I was really  irritated and hurt by this whole thing. He was supposed to be my best friend but blows me off EVERYTIME! WHO TF DOES THIS BOY THINK HE IS!? I took a deep breath and decided to take a nap.

The next day

I'm at the weathervane reading a book with my ear buds in. Someone comes and sits at my booth. It was Xavier. "What do you want?" I asked coldly. "Look y/n I'm sorry for blowing you off yesterday." "Are you? Are you really ? Cause you do this all the time Xavier. Whenever we hangout, she shows up and you kick me to the curb!" Xavier sighs. "You know she asked me to the Rave'N." He tells me. "Okay? Good for you. Want a cookie?" "Y/n." "No. Tell me this if y'all ever become a thing, are you going to cut me off completely?" I asked him. I kinda already knew the answer but I needed to hear him say it. "No I would never do that you-" he starts to say but I cut him off. "You certainly don't act like it. Your crush on Wednesday blinds you so much that you can't even see when your being a bad friend!" I tell him. "Y/n that's not true!" "Yes it is and your hurting me when you do that!" We both get quiet.

"Thank you for ruining my time here." I get up and walk out. I speed walk down the street. I can hear him running after me. "Y/n wait !" I turn to look at him. "Okay listen, it's true I do have a crush on Wednesday but I would never stop being friends with you for her." "But you can toss me aside if she needs you?" He looks away from me then looks back. "Look I'm sorry. Really y/n I'm sorry. I'm sorry for blowing you off and being a jackass towards you. Im so sorry that I hurt you but I promise you that I'll change. I don't want to stop being your best friend. Your the most important person in my life. So please, can you forgive me and give me another chance." He says.

Wow. I can feel how sorry he is based on his words. "Thank you." I sigh. "Im going to give you another chance. Don't fuck it up." He smiles at me and hugs me and I return the hug. "I promise I won't." We hug for a while til we heard a voice. "Xavier." We both turn and we see Wednesday. Even though her face stays the same, this time she looked mad. "I need to talk to you right now Xavier." She looks at me "please excuse us." She goes to reach for his hand but he pulls away. "I'm sorry Wednesday but I'm hanging out with y/n right now. We can talk later." He says. With his arm still around my shoulder, he turns us and we start walking down the street. Wednesday walks off in the other direction.

I'm shocked by his actions. WHAT!? Well I mean I shouldn't be surprised since he just gave me a huge speech about how he's gonna be a better friend so duh he's not gonna dip out on me. But STILL... I really appreciate it. We walk off and I start thinking again. I probably shouldn't get my hopes though. I'm just his friend and literally just admitted to having a crush on Wednesday. I shouldn't think too much on this and just enjoy being with him.

I snap out my thoughts when Xavier starts waving his hand in my face. "Hello? Is y/n in there?" he chuckles. I laugh a little "yeah sorry just in my head. Anyways where are we hanging out?" "Anywhere you want." "Well I need some new clothes." I smile and look at him. He's not really big on shopping but he always makes an exception for me. "Okay. To the mall we go!" He shouts. He walks in front of me and bends down. I smile and jump on his back.

"To the mall we go !" I shout. We make it to the mall and we start shopping. I pick out some clothes for me and Enid. I also get some things for Xavier when he wasn't looking. We had a lot of fun. We kept getting kicked out of some stores cause we kept playing on the escalators and elevators.

On our way back to Nevermore we were laughing and joking around. He helps me carry all the things we got back up to my dorm room. "Damn y/n why did you have to get so much stuff?" "Oh stop complaining." I laugh. We make it to my room and drop everything on the floor. "Thanks Xavier for today." "No problem y/n and again I'm really sorry." "It's okay Xavier you can stop apologizing to me." " I know but I still feel bad. If you need anything please tell me." Well maybe that's not a bad idea. "Thank you for that, I'll keep that in mind."

"I should go, I still need to talk to Wednesday. Ill text you later okay." "Okay bye." He walks out. It still kinda hurts that he'll never see me the way I see him but that's okay. Maybe one day he will return that favor.
