Enemies to Friends

Xavier and I never liked each other. Even when we were kids, we never saw eye to eye. Our parents were best friends so we saw each other all the time. That was until his parents moved away. I was jumping for joy when my parents told me. Which ended up with me getting in trouble. Hehe. Well now we are both teens and we still saw each other from time to time during holidays. Since his parents or my parents would fly out so they could see each other.

About a week ago my parents told me that I was going to go to a place called Nevermore Academy. I believe that's what it's called. I was excited cause I always wanted to go there. My parents used to talk to me about it all the time. They told me that's where they fell in love and I wanted to experience love as well. Considering the fact that I never dated anyone. So I was gonna make the most outta going to Nevermore. But of course I didn't have my hopes up too high just so they can come crashing down. So I promised myself that I won't go looking for a boyfriend but instead to wait for love to find me. Can you imagine my surprise.

We just arrived at Nevermore about an hour ago. I already got my room and settled in. I also got a roommate, her name was Enid and she was a gossiper. Which was fine with me cause Im a little nosey and I like to know what's going on people's lives. Right now me and Enid are just sitting on our beds talking about random things. Enid being Enid of course brought up the subject in boys.

"I have the biggest crush on my friend Ajax. He's so cute! He is also the biggest softy and he's such a gentleman! Watch one of these days imma bag him." I laughed as she said that. Not to make fun of her but because when she 'imma bag him', it caught me off guard. "I 100% agree that you will bag him." I say and we both giggle. "I'll even help you out, if you like." She squeals. She gets up from her bed and runs to mine to give me a bone crushing hug. "THANK YOU ! YOUR SUCH A GOOD FRIEND!" She says yelling in my ear. "Anytime Enid." I say with a smile.

"You wanna go shopping ?" She asks me. Now I'm not really big on shopping, it's never been my thing, but I wanna hangout with Enid so I agreed. We are getting ready to head out when we spot Ajax talking to some dude with long brown hair. He reminded me of Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. I laughed at this, a little too loud apparently since when I got done and looked up Enid, Ajax and the boy were staring at me.

Embarrassed I fix myself and apologize to Enid. "I don't know why you were laughing but def have to tell me later." By now Ajax and the boy were coming closer to us. As I'm looking at them walk up to us, the boy next to Ajax looks really familiar. That's when I recognize him and he does to. Fucking hell. It's Xavier Thorpe. "Oh hell no!" I say. "Oh my fucking Gosh !" He says. We say it at the same time though. "What the hell are you doing here !?" We yell at each other. "You guys know each other ?" Enid asks looking between the both of us. "Sadly." "Unfortunately." We say at the same time again.

Ajax and Enid look at each other like they don't know what to do. Surprisingly Xavier grabs my arm and pulls me away from them until we are out of ear shot. I don't stop him since I'm curious to know what he wants. He sighs and turns to look at me. "Look y/n I know that we never really had the best friendship when we were little but this is a new place for me. A place where I can be myself without people looking at me oddly. So can you please do me a favor and just drop whatever type of bad feeling you have of me. I changed, obviously, but I don't want any bad blood between us so, can we start over and be friends ?" Wow that's a lot to take in, but he's right. We need to stop acting like children and grow up. I also understand where your coming from, Xavier. "Yeah okay. We can be friends." I said and smiled at him. He smiled back at me.

"Enid and I were going to go to the mall to get us some new clothes. Why don't you and Ajax come with us ?" "Yeah I'm down." He says and smiles at me. We walk back over to Enid and Ajax and they can tell that we settled whatever we had between us since our moods changed. " You guys good now?" Ajax says and gives us a thumbs up. "Yeah we're good." Xavier says and smiles down at me while I smile up at him. "Okay good, also y/n I hope you don't mind but I told Ajax that he and Xavier can come with us to the mall." I smile as I look down at my shoes. "It's okay Enid since I told Xavier the same thing." We laugh at now are on our way.

We had fun at the mall. Enid and I tried on a shit ton of clothes. At one point we decided to show the boys the dresses we put on. Ajax got really red and started stuttering and Xavier looked speechless. We made fun of them when we got back to the dressing rooms. I had a lot of fun with them. On our way back my feet started to hurt so Xavier gave me a piggy back ride. If only we got along like this back then, I think I would have fell for him.

He carried me all the way up to my room. When we got in my dorm room, he walked me over to my bed and legit threw me on the bed. I mean it was fun but I still yelled at him for it. Jokingly of course. Enid stepped out the room so she could talk to Ajax alone. Now it was just Xavier and I. It was quiet for second before I spoke up. "Listen Xavier I want to apologize for being a bitch to you this entire time. Your actually not that bad and I had a lot of fun with you. So I'm sorry. From now on I promise to be nothing but good to you." I say with a smile. "Im also sorry for being a dick to you. I don't even know why I started being mean to you but it's whatever now." " You know our parents are gonna be thrilled when we tell them we are friends now." I say and we laugh. "Oh you have no idea." He says. We laugh again and when we stop we look at each other with smiles on our faces.

Enid and Ajax appear in the doorway. "Aww you two would look so cute together!" Enid says and me and Xavier look away from each other and stand up at the same time. Even with my hurt foot, I was able to walk closer to Enid. "Nooo !" I say waving my hands in front of me. "No we wouldn't and don't say things like that." She laughs. "Okay time to go." I grab Xavier's hand and drag him in front of me, I let go of his hand and I start to push him out the door. "Okay it was nice spending time with you and maybe we can do it again later." I say rushing my words. "But I still have to unpack something's so.." Enid cuts me off. "No we finished unpacking earlier-" "NOPE!" I say and look at her. She laughs at what I'm trying to do. She grabs her purse and runs out the door saying she has to meet up with Yoko.

Before I'm able to close the door Xavier says "I'll see you later y/n" with a smile. I smile back at him "see you." I say and close the door. Hmm I have a feeling that we are going to be real good friends.
