Nightmares

Xavier pov

Me and y/n we're in my art shed painting and listening to some music. Right now we are having a little painting competition. "You know y/n drawing and painting is my specialty. I don't know why you challenged me on this, since we both know I'm going to win." I told her. "You might think so but I'm also an artist as well." She said. "Not better then me." "Boy shut up." She says while rolling her eyes, with a little smile. I laugh at her, she's so cute and adorable.

10 minutes goes by and she shouts "I'm done!" "Well I'm almost done so hold on a sec." "Well hurry up!" She says playfully. "Don't rush me. Art takes time." After adding some more details to my painting, I'm finally done. "Alright I'm done." "Finally." She says jokingly. "Shut up." I say with a little laugh. "Okay ready!" She says excitedly. "Yes." "Okay 3..2..1.." we turn our paintings around to show each other. Wow, I thought. We actually kinda thought of the same thing. We painted each other.

My painting was her laying down on a flower bed, with flowers in her hair. She was smiling while wearing a white dress. Her painting was of me. I was sitting down with my drawing book, with my headphones on. "Aww Xavier, your painting is gorgeous." She says staring at the painting in awe. I make the painting move, so it looks like shes laughing. I smile at this and look back at her painting. "Says you, your painting looks so realistic." Looking between the both of them, they were both really good. "It's kinda hard to pick the winner huh?" She says looking at me with her gorgeous brown eyes. "We are both winners." I say walking closer to her.

I put my arms around her waist and her arms go around my shoulders. I lean down and kiss her. We pull away and I look at her  in the eyes. That's her weakness and I knew that. She kisses me again. "I love you Xavier. I love you with my whole heart." She tells me. "I love you too y/n. I always have and always will." I tell her. She gives me a hug and I give her a kiss on the forehead. After a little while we realized that it was late and we had to get back. We clean up the shed and head back.

We are walking through the woods and I feel as if something is watching us. I start looking around but I don't see or hear anything. "Are you okay baby?" Y/n asks me while looking concerned. "Yeah baby I'm okay. I just feel off." Then I heard a twig snap behind us and a growl. I look back and still don't see anything but I'm not going to stay and find out what is was. Quickly I grab y/n's hand and start running. Whatever was behind us started chasing us and it was fast.

All of a sudden I don't feel the ground anymore. It threw me against a tree. My back hit the tree and hard. I fell to the ground and I felt really dizzy. I hear y/n screaming for me to help her. I look up and I see the hyde standing over y/n. "NO!" I screamed and I reached out to her but I was too far away. The hyde brought it's claws down and started slicing into her chest. Her screams were deafening. Then silence. There her body lay still. The hyde looks up from her body and to me. It walks over to me and as it brings it's hand down I start screaming.

I woke up in a cold sweat. I was breathing really hard and holding my chest. A few tears dropped down my face. I try to calm down and slow my breathing but it didn't work. That dream felt really real. Too real. Y/n. I instantly get up out of bed and head to the girls dorms. I don't really care if anyone heard me but I needed to see y/n.

Y/n pov

I wake by someone banging on my window. I check the time on my phone and it reads 3:47. The banging starts again. I get startled and head to grab my baseball bat but stop. My sense of smell is really strong since I'm half wolf and half witch. I smell the air and it's Xavier's scent. What's he doing here at this time of night? I walk to my bedroom window and open it. Oh my gosh. He looks terrible. It looked as if he was crying. "Baby what happened?" I asked him. He climbs through the window and grabs me and pulls me in a tight hug. Hes so cold. He starts crying while trying to tell me what happened. "I..I.. it got you..I'm so sorry. I tried..I fought.." Xavier said. I shushed him, and let him cry on my shoulder. I kinda pieced it together that he had another nightmare. They don't happen a lot but when they do they get really bad.

I walk him over to my bed and we lay down. I pull the blankets over us, more him than me. I have my hands in his hair, playing with it. Xavier has his head on my chest and he is holding me really tight. Almost as if I'm going to disappear if he lets go. After a while he quiets down.

"Did you have another nightmare?" I ask him and he nods his head yes. "Was it about me?" He nods his head again. I grab his face to make him look up at me. His face broke my heart. "Baby I promise you that nothing will ever happen to me okay. I'm here and I'm with you. I promise you that I'm going to live a very long life okay." I tell him while staring deep in his eyes. He nods his head again, as a okay. He really was frightened. I could feel it. It truly broke my heart to hear and see him crying. I kiss him deeply.

"Do you want to spend the night? We don't have school tomorrow anyways." I tell him. He still doesn't say anything and just nods. He lays his head back down on my chest and falls back asleep instantly. I put a dreamcatcher spell on him so he doesn't have another nightmare. After an hour watching him sleep, I fall asleep too.
