Brothers Best Friend

Being at Nevermore was definitely something else. Even though none of us here are normal, my brother and I still get stares. My brothers name is Ajax, and our mother is Medusa. Because of that a lot of people wanted to stay away from us, in fear that we would turn them to stone. We did happen to make a few friends though. Enid and Wednesday are my best friends. We are always together and we always have each other's back. It took Ajax a while to make a friend since he was very shy, but he ended up becoming best friends with a guy named Xavier.

Since they are best friends and hungout all the time, I got to see him all the time. Hanging out with Xavier more and more made me develope feelings for him. He was so nice and cute and he made me so happy.

I had found out two weeks ago that Xavier had a crush on me when I overheard him in the hallways talking to Enid. I decided that the same day I was going to ask him to be my boyfriend, AND HE SAID YES ! We have been secretly dating every since.

Now let me say that secretly dating your brothers best friend, isn't easy. There were so many times where we almost got caught. But luckily my brother isn't smart enough to connect the dots.

It's become hard to hide this from my brother since he is like my best friend. Ever since we were little we always told each other everything. So not being able to tell him that I got my first boyfriend, has been killing me.

Right now I'm in my dorm room watching scary movies with Xavier. We are cuddled up in my bed with my head on his chest and his arms wrapped around me. "Bro this movie is so stupid !" "Right ! Why do people in scary movies have to be so stupid !" I said. "If I was in a scary movie, I'd survive cause the moment I find out that there is a serial killer on the loose, I'd leave the town." Xavier said. I just looked at him like he was stupid. "Says the person that literally runs into trouble." I say and playfully roll my eyes.

"I only run into trouble when it involves you." He says and pulls me closer and kisses me. "Mhm." "Well you or your brother." I sit up. "Speaking of my brother, when do you think at should tell him about us." Xavier sits up too and runs his hand through his hair. "I have no idea. How do you think he'd take it ?" "Well he probably would be mad that we hid this from him but my brother only wants the best for us, so I think he'd be understanding." Xavier nods his head.

"Well whatever happens with your brother won't change anything with us. I love you and I have for the last couple months. And no disrespect to your brother, but I'm not gonna allow him to take you away from me." Xavier says. I grab his face and kiss him deeply. "I love you too baby." I give him another kiss and his phone goes off. "Speaking of the devil." Xavier says and I giggle. "Hey Alex ! What's up ?" "Hey Xavier, where are you ? I need to talk to you."

"Oh I'm helping principle Weems with something, but I'm almost done. What's wrong ?" "My sister is dating someone. I overheard her friends talking about it but they didn't say who."  Xavier and I froze and stared at each other. "Look I don't care if she dates someone but I'm hurt at the fact that she didn't tell me. We used to tell each other everything and now... she's pulling away from me."

My heart broke hearing brothers words. I'm not pulling away from him, that's the last thing that I would every do. Xavier saw the hurt look on my face and wrapped an arm around me. "Dude, just talk to her. I'm 100% sure that she isn't pulling away from you. She loves you." "Alright I'll talk to her. Thanks for listening to me." "Anytime." They hang up the phone and my head drops on to Xavier's shoulder. Xavier just sits there and holds me.

After about a minute or so, I raise my head and look at Xavier. "I'm going to tell him about us tonight. I can't keep hiding this from him and I can't have him thinking that I'm slipping away from him." "No, I understand. Do you want me to be there ?" "Yeah." "Okay." My phone goes off and I see that my brother texted me.

I get up from bed and change into some sweats and a t-shirt and I put on my shoes. Xavier didn't have to change so he just waited for me. "Okay let's go." I say and grab his hand. When we get to Ajax's room we let go of each other's hands. I knock on the door and wait for him to open it. When he does I immediately hug him, and tight.
"I have to tell you something and I don't want you to be mad at me okay." "Okay." I let go of him and step back a few feet but still close to him. "I got a boyfriend and I'm so sorry that I kept it from you. I only did that cause I didn't know how to would take it."

"I know you have a boyfriend y/n. And I'm not mad but yeah I wish you did tell me. You know that I just want the best for you." "Yeah I know but here's the thing. I'm dating Xavier." After I said that Ajax just looks at me. He doesn't move a muscle, he just stares. He then looks from me to Xavier "You are dating my sister ?" Xavier slowly nods his head. Ajax smiles.

"Oh thank God !" "What ?" I say confused. "Your not mad ?" "Well I am cause you didn't tell me but not really. I'm glad it's him and not a weirdo." I smile and hug him again. "Next time y/n just tell me cause you had me thinking that you were pulling away from me." I'd never do that to you, ever."

He smiles and looks at Xavier. "You break her heart and I'll stone you." His snakes start hissing. "Got it." Xavier said kind worriedly.

We talked for few hours after that. Mainly just Ajax asking us questions about how we got together and whatnot. When it was time to leave I gave him another hug and Xavier and I went back to my dorm.

"That wasn't as bad as I thought." I said with a smile. "Honestly I thought he was going to attack me." Xavier says and I start laughing. We make it back to my dorm room and change into pj's. We watch a couple more movies before we fell asleep.
