Hotch and JJ obviously don't know that me and the rest of the team know Emily is alive, we just want to make sure it's true. I'm on my way to Garcia's house, looks like Ian was left for dead after the two bullets last night.
We didn't receive any confirmation, but I was too tired to inquire about Doyle's state of life.
Garcia opens the door for me, I arrived before Reid and Rossi, as soon as I enter the house I find Morgan lying on the couch.
I sit down in an armchair and pull out my laptop once Garcia walks me through how to track victims and unsubs from the computer.
In this case, we assumed that Emily hid so that Doyle wouldn't find her.
As Morgan explains his theories, Reid and Rossi arrive.
It was almost midday and Rossi brought a bottle of wine to drink during the search.

"Guys, I think that only Hotch and JJ know where she is, so even if we ask them if she is still ok, they won't answer." says Garcia.

"Of course they won't answer, but now Doyle's dead so why didn't she come back?" asks Morgan.

"Guys, let's continue our search, there will be a hint that she unwittingly gave us before leading us to her" I say.

At that moment Morgan's cell phone rings, he gets up from the sofa and moves away from the rest of the group to better listen to the conversation. He looks worried.
When he hangs up the phone he keeps looking down, his back to us.

"Guys it was the hospital where Hotch is being treated" he says.

"Yesterday when we left the building, the doctors rescued Doyle, he is now hospitalized in the room next to Hotch's. They say he is stable and will go to jail as soon as he recovers." he continues.

"But- How's Hotch doing?" asks Garcia worried.

"He went into cardiac arrest during the ambulance ride. now he seems stable but he is very weak, and if Doyle recovers soon he will not think twice about eliminating Hotch once and for all" says Morgan.

"We have to go there" Reid grabs his things and rushes to the door and we follow him.

We take Morgan's car, parked not far from Garcia's house. He occupies the front seat while Reid, Rossi and I are in the narrow back seats.

"Will we ever have a normal day?" complains Rossi.
Actually he's right, after what happened with Elle, Tobias Enkel, the believers, Foyet, Gideon leaving and now the return of Doyle, I also wonder if we will ever have a normal day.

We park the car in the underground parking of the hospital. below it is illuminated by LED lights plus it's very cold. We run to the hospital entrance where we show our badges to the doctors. Two of them lead us to room 101 where Hotch is.
Only Rossi, Morgan and Garcia enter the room while Reid and I think something is wrong.

"Reid, Morgan said Doyle's room is next door to Hotch's." I say

"Yes why?" asks Reid.

I go get a doctor and ask if Doyle's room was 102.

"Yes it is" asks me a random doctor. Then he turns and goes to the elevator at the end of the corridor.
Reid looks at me concerned, then turns the corner he kicks the door, and enters into Doyle's room.

"It's empty." says Reid.

"he fooled us again." he continues.

We return to Hotch's hospital room, informing the team that Doyle has escaped. Hotch tries to get up with all his strength but without success.

"Where are my clothes, please?" he wanted to go back to his daily clothes and join the chase.

Garcia stays to take care of Hotch, meanwhile updating us on Doyle's whereabouts via his laptop. Morgan rushes out of the hospital running, me Reid and the Rossi try to follow him.
Rossi takes an ambulance to avoid being noticed, meanwhile he gets in the car looking for Doyle in that area. Morgan warns us that there are no suspects around the hospital. he probably hid inside. I was in the underground car park, where we had parked the car. Reid was standing in the hospital entrance. Morgan orders him via earpiece to go back inside and keep both Hotch and Garcia safe. Morgan tells me to stay in the parking lot in case he takes a vehicle and to shoot in case he runs away.

I hear footsteps behind me, I turn abruptly and find Doyle, dressed like a doctor and in the same black sweatshirt he was wearing the night before.

"Doyle, FBI put your hands up, now" I yell

"You could have skipped the part where you say "FBI" I already know who you are, agent y/l/n"
he jokes as he puts his hands on top of his head.

I roll my eyes pretending I haven't heard anything.

"I got him, we are in the underground parking" I say to the mic to inform the team.

"You know, I always thought you agents were smart. But I was very wrong."
he started laughing, then I never heard his laugh again. I feel a very strong pain in my right side: a bullet had hit me. Doyle hadn't drawn a gun. He's also not the type to collaborate with anyone. Doyle has changed since Emily's death. Someone else must have shot me.

"y/n where's your location?" I hear Reid's voice in the headphones.
I can't answer, I'm completely down. I can't move, I feel the wound getting bigger and bigger. All I hear is the engine sound of the vehicle Doyle is driving and and some quick footsteps coming from the exit.
And then nothing more.
