chapter 17: fights and play

"Come on Knuckle-head. Is this all you got?" The blue hedgehog said as knuckles blocked his spindash.
"Grrr. I would not push you luck, slowpoke!" growled the hybrid, trying to punch him with his fists.
Sonic dodged easly and wanted to kick knuckles at the back of his head.
Gladly he saw what was going on, grinned, shifted to his cat form, so the blue missed.
"Hey. Don't you wanna fight fair Kitten?!" sonic giggled, grinning cocky.
Quickly the cat transformed back, grabbed his rival and threw him against a wall.
"Never call me kitty again or I'll kick your teeth out, so you can never smile like that again!"
This was going on for like an hour untill they were both worked out. There was no one winning and no one loosing.
They were equal to each other.
Infinite or better called Zero now, watched them interested until they stopped fighting.
They both had a lot of bruises, a few were bleeding a little. Both were huffing out of breath still staring at each other with a weird glare. Then they started laughing amused at each other's glare and fist bumped.
"They are weird." the jackal said, looking at the black hedgehog.
"They are not weird. Their 'friendship' is."
"We are not friends!" The cat yelled at them. "We are rivals!"
"Oh yeah?" Zero laughed. "Then I am dating you comanda." he grinned with wiggling eyebrows.
"Sorry but he is already mine." the ebony growled.
"Huh?!" The red one hissed at him. "You say that like I am a thing! I am not yours."
"Then I will make you mine." Shadow grinned kind of evil and walked towards his guardian.
"Oh shit." Knuckles started running and Shadow followed him. They both knew the dark one was a lot more faster than the red kitten, but he didn't want to end this so soon. It was fun to tease him.
He ran after him untill the echidna was out of breath and fell on his knees panting.
The hedgehog kneed next to him. "Are you giving up?~" he asked, lifting up the others chin.
"No. Not at all. I-" he huffed. "I am not *huff* done yet."
"Mhm I see. Persistent echidna. Just how I love it~" shadow licked his lips, moving closer to his lips.
"Shut it!" Knuckles hissed while purring.
"But you like it, don't you?"
"Tch" the cat pushed his face away from himself. "Not at all."
"Mhm then what I only can do is to make you feel better is..." Shadow started, picking up his lover in bridal style. "this."
"Gaah put me down, Asshole!" The keeper yelled, blushing in a very deep red.
"Didn't you hear me?! Put me down shadow!" He meowed angrily.
"Relax." He whispered, leaving at little kiss on the forehead.
Like he spoke a magical spell, the angry fighter went quiet and shyly cuddled against him. "I- I still hate you." he muttered, while hiding his blushing face in shadow's shirt.
"Let's see if you still can say that when I am done with you." The hedgehog teased, holding him closer.

"Hey infinite?" Sonic asked. "Wanna get inside? I can't watch this two make out any longer."
The wild dog nodded. "Same. This is disgusting."
They went inside and found tails laying on the sofa asleep in Amys arms.
"Hey you two." She whispered smiling.
"Huh? What is with tails? Did he took the break I told him to take?"
"Seems like it, doesn't it." Rouge grinned. "Where did you leave these two love brids?"
"They're outside, flirting with each other." Zero groaned and rolled with his eyes. "Or better said: Shadow is flirting and Knux tries everything to not show that he is enjoying it." Sonic grinned cocky and looked over to tails.
"Maybe I should put him in his bed." he said, softly picking up the fox boy and went to his room.

While the guys were busy inside, shadow and Knuckles were still interested in their own business.
Shadow was the whole time trying to flirt with his kitten, but knuckles blocked every single time.
"Come on knux." he smiled softly. "why won't you accept my love to you?"
"I- I never said I would not accept your love." The echidna stuttered blushing.
"Then are you flustered by my actions and are blocking up?"
"M-maybe?"
Slowly Shadow sat down, still having the guardian close, cuddling him.
"You don't need to be flustered... Or is it because you saw me nacked?" He grinned.
The echidnas cheeks heated up like the rest of his body. "N-no! It's not because of that!"
"Mhm I know.~"
"Mhmpf" he growled shy, pushing himself closer to the other, who started to place a kiss on his forehead.
"shadz..." knuckles mumbled. The hedgehog stopped, looking at him. "I want to kiss you, Knuckles."
Purple eyes glared at red orbs, then to the hedgehogs mouth. "Aren't you doing this the whole time?" he asked.
"No, I meant... a kiss on the lips."
The hybrid heared his heartbeat increasing. "O-oh... Uhhh..." His cat ears moved down, a little ashamed, his tail wiggled a little.
"Knuckles." The dark hedgehog smiled softly, moving one hand to his lovers cheek. "It's okay if you don't want to kiss me. I mean we haven't even been going on a date yet."
The kitten sighed blushing, grabbing the hedgehogs chestfur. He swallowed nervous, mumbling. "I- I don't care."
The older one smiled gently, pushing himself close enough to not touch the other's lips. If knuckles really wanted to kiss, he should show it.
Their noses were touching, both quitely breathed, hitting each the counterparts mouth.
"No." The echidna pulled back. First you need to tell me what happened at the ark."
"Then let's go inside so I can."
