Chapter 7

As Hyejin walks to the lunchroom she bumps into another professor. Do- hwan. He's her english professor 'Ah Hyejin, I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention!' He says while reassuring that she's not hurt. 

'Nah, my bad. How are you today?' She asks him with a friendly tone. 'Great! But what are you doing here so late? Shouldn't you be eating lunch?' He asks her. 'I had to pass by professor Nolan for some questions. But I am hungry, so please excuse me.' She lowers her head and says goodbye. 

She can speak a little more freely with him. He's a good friend of her stepdad. He visits her at home often too. Too bad that he isn't her mentor. 

'Hyejin! This way.' She sees Miles sit in the second row on the left with another plate. She rushes over and sits down. 'Thanks.' She starts eating while she listens to the crap the boys are talking about. 

Eventually Elijah and Sung- Min join them. They are having an open relationship in the school since today. They got tired of the rumors so they just let them say whatever they want. They made the decision in the weekend, since that fight many people already knew so there was no point in keeping it a 'secret'. 

'My favorite baby's!' Hyejin said in a high pitched voice. Miles gasped. 'Are you replacing me?' She stood up and hung over the table giving him a kiss on the cheek. 'Never.' She said and sat back down finishing her food. 

'Did you hear anything from dad?' Sung- Min asked her as he sat next to her. 'No, did you?' He shook his head. 'Oh right, you're mom is in the hospital.' Miles said shifting in his voice sounding serious. 

'I'll call him before the next class. But I'm sure she's fine!' A fake smile spread on her face. 'Are you going there after school?' Colby asked. 

'I need to know what hospital she's at. Than I'll go.' She answered. 'I'll come with you.' Miles reassured her. 'Don't even try to leave without me.' He added. 'Sorry guys, I can't come with you. But call me as soon as you know more.' Elijah said. 'I'll keep you guys posted.'

'Hello Miss I am looking for a patient. Her name is Mrs Bora Park.' Hyejin had arrived at the hospital together with her brother and Miles. The woman at the administration quickly looks up the room number. 

'Room number 707. It's on the 7th floor to the left. You can take the elevator there on your right.' She point to the end of the hall and they start walking towards it. 

'You think she's alright?' Sung- Min sounded concerned. 'I believe so, otherwise the lady would have told us. Don't you think?' She says pushing the button of the elevator. They step in and move up. When they arrive on the floor they can hear people shouting.

'Where did you hear that from?' A males voice said. They kept looking for the room number until Miles called them. 'Guys. They're the ones who are fighting.' He said pointing at the big numbers above the door. 707.  'I didn't know it was this bad.' Miles added while holding Hyejin's hand. 

'Shut up! You don't know shit' Her mother shouted back. 'Listen, I don't know anything but you're probably getting the wrong idea here!' Her dad said raising his voice. Hyejin opened Sung-Min's bagpack and took out his headphones. 

'Put them on. Miles stay with him.' She said handing him the headphones. 'Hyejin, you don't have to do this alone.' Miles said wanting to back her up. 

'Stay with him.' She entered the room not giving him the time to decide what to do. 

'Mom, dad. What is going on?' Her mother looked at her, she was pissed off. She had never seen her mother like this. She was slim, white and conected to a big device. It showed her blood pressure and heart rate. 'Mother, calm down. You are in the hospital.' She walked closer to her mother.
