Chapter 9-

Ana stepped into the muddy dirt of the pond. The water was cold, bone-chilling cold.

Ana shuddered. She hated cold, when she first got near it, but it was okay once she started to get used to it

She felt the mud under her toes. It was squishy and it had a nice feeling, and Ana smiled.

But the nice feeling of the mud was just as soon replaced by the feeling of a glass; a smooth, flawless, glass.

Ana jerked her feet out of the water. The water and mud dripped off her feet back into the pond where it came from.

Ana, after sitting with her feet out of the water in partial shock, went to investigate, slowing pushing her hand into the water until it hit she glass once more.

She pulled it out of the water.

It was a smooth vanity mirror; and as she pulled it out of the water all of the mud drippd off it, as if it was repellent to the water itself.

The muddy water that dripped off the mirror floated in the air and formed a hand, gesturing for Ana to follow. But when Ana went to put down the mirror, the hand told her to stop with the universal stop sign; a palm with all fingers up.

So Ana decided to trust the water. It reformed into a pair of feet and started walking. Ana had to pick whether or not to follow it. And she did.

Amber jogged downstairs after putting on some clothes and taking a bath.

'Mmmmm, I smell Blueberry and Chocolate chip pancakes.' Amber thought, and walked into the kitchen, seeing a busy Alex whipping up some chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes.

"Hey, Amber." Alex said, turning around to greet her and going back to his pancake.

"You can cook?!?" Amber asked surprisingly.

Alex chuckled.

"Yeah."

"So what are you cooking?" Amber asked taking a blueberry out the bowl.

He smacked her hand playfully. "Don't touch my blueberries, and I making blueberry and Chocolate chip pancakes."

"Together?" Amber asked rubbing her hand, she'd been smacked way too many times on her hand.

"Can you stop with the questions?" He sighed. "And yes they're together."

"Okay." Amber muttered and watched him plate the pancakes.

"Breakfast is ready!" Alex said perkily.

"Awesome, I'll go get Ryan." She said and bounced upstairs to Ryan's room.

Amber traveled up the stairs as fast as she could, looking for Ryan.

"Ryan? You there?" Amber called from the hall, and then entered her brother's temporary room in the lake house.

He wasn't there.

"Ryan? Ryan?" Worry crept into Amber's voice.

She just didn't know what to expect.

"Ryan!" Amber yelled, as loud as she could. "This is not the time to be kidding around."

She started to panic, pacing around the small room, when Ryan entered with a small smile on his face.

"Ryan!" Amber jumped down to Ryan's level and hugged him, and then started scolding him. "Why didn't you respond?"

Ryan threw his arms around his sister to comfort her and started whispering in her ear:

"I had a dream, Amber." Ryan said, nestling his head into her shoulder. "I know where Ana is."
