AL V4 E14: Setting up the Finale

General POV

It'd been a day since the Battle of the Mirror Sea, the group had bagged Ayanami as another POW and she was currently in the infirmary. Since Ayanami by major technicality wasn't an enemy Javelin and Laffey weren't under Court-Martial but things weren't all rosy for our heroes.

Enterprise had been falling back onto her old habits since she blamed herself for Ayanami's brush with death and for Montana's disappearance. The remaining members of MDAY, alongside Ruby and Black Wolf were searching for Montana everyday.

One day the 4 Iowa's currently present came back from another Search and Rescue sortie empty-handed.

Illinois: "Ugh! These searches are starting to become wastes of fuel at this point!" he yelled out frustrated.

Missouri: "At this point I'd think Alex doesn't wanna be found." he said.

New Jersey: "No! don't say that Baby Brothers!" she shouted, "We aren't losing Alex! Mark my words! We'll find him sooner or later, then we'll bring him back!"

Kentucky: "Sis, as much as I agree, I can't ignore the fact that we're denting the base's fuel reserves." he stated.

Missouri: "Yeah," he added, "as much as I want to continue looking we have a massive war still going on around us."

New Jersey: "Are you suggesting-?!" she's cut off by Missouri glaring at her.

Missouri: "I'm saying, that we keep searching, but only when we have some kind of lead somewhere." he said, "Otherwise we call the search off for the time being. It saves fuel and we're still on the hunt., just from behind a desk."

Tears threatened to fall from NJ's eyes as she was forced to accept that she couldn't find her lover right that second, and reluctantly she nodded.

New Jersey: "Fine, we call of the hunt....but the first leads you get, bring it to me!" she insisted.

Illinois: "Alright Black Dragon," he said, "Missouri?"

Missouri: "I'm on it, let's just get back to the base." he said.

Kentucky: "Last one there has to shave the barnacles off of Enty's ship!" he yelled.

Illinois: "Oh you're on lil bro!" he yelled back.

The duo then shot off.

New Jersey: "Oi! That's no fair!" she yelled before giving chase.

Missouri chuckled and shook his head before shooting off to catch his siblings.

Missouri: "Oi! Wait up you cheaters!" he yelled.

The 4 Iowa's chuckled and laughed with each other as they raced back to Pearl and enjoyed each other's company similar in essence to children playing with each other.

When they got back the group split up, NJ went to the library looking for records of unknown kansen, Illinois went to Wales for debrief, Kentucky went to visit Ayanami with some pizza which his older brother had created, and Missouri went to visit his teammates.

When he entered the dorm of his lover he was slightly surprised to see Kentucky, Ruby, Unicorn, Javelin, Laffey, Black Wolf, and Ayanami with Yamato doing......girl things...? I dunno-. The group then turned to see who had entered the room adding to the awkwardness.

Missouri: "Um......what's happening in here?" he asked.

Kentucky: "These 2 are trying to make Ayanami feel normal," he said, gesturing to Laffey and Javelin, "then they dragged me along with Unicorn, Ruby, and Black Wolf to do....well this."
