"Thanksgiving is a time for thanks, a time to be surrounded by family"

"Sophia, I'll see you later. I'm on my way to my sisters house" I said into the phone. I was currently late and my mom has been blowing up my phone all day. 

I was busy getting the desert and Sophia was bugging me about coming over to watch Brazil vs Serbia. She said it was important I watch no matter even if Mateo and I weren't friends anymore so now I had to deal with my family and heart on this graceful day. 

I pulled up to my sisters townhouse and rushed out the car, once I opened the door everyone greeted me. 

"Rosalie you're here" my sister Sage ran to hug me 

"Sorry for being late, I brought the cake" I said handing her the box she asked me to pick up 

"No problem we haven't started eating but go put your stuff down" she said taking the cake to the kitchen 

My sister had a beautiful house and was more accomplished than me. She got her PHD and became a doctor to add on her husband Jordan was a surgeon so put them together they were the perfect couple in my mothers eyes. 

"Hey pumpkin" my dad said hugging me 

I was surprised my sister was able to get both my parents to be under one roof. "Hi, dad its great to see you" I told him finding a seat at the table 

Everyone got seated and my sister came out happy to see our family together. The food looked amazing and she truly out did herself this year. 

"Before we eat lets say grace" she said grabbing my dads hand

"I think Rose should bless us today" my mom insisted

I gave her a look why would she ask me to do it. This year has been a rollercoaster for me. My mom squeezed my hand indicating that I should speak. 

"Ummm, dear god thank you for blessing us with another year together, for keeping my family and me healthy and bringing us together today. I thank you for opening new doors for us and allowing growth. In Jesus name amen" 

"Amen" everyone followed behind before getting their plates and grabbing the food

"That was beautiful Rose" Sage said giving me a hug 

"Thank you" shes been too affectionate... this isn't normal 

As I was trying to figure out what was going on I heard my parents arguing in the kitchen 

"Oh, David enough you always find a way to villainize me" my mother spitted at my father

"You're one to talk! I don't know how we stayed married" he argued back 

10 minutes in and they were already starting a scene. I looked over at Sage and she looked irrupted with them Jordan came out and kind of broke the two of them up. They do this all the time its been like this since Sage and I were young but now that were all adults you'd think they'd stop. 

"They always find a way to ruin a perfect day" Sage cried to me

"Yea, don't let it bother you. I ignore them all the time" I told her walking back to the table to eat.

For the most part dinner went well and nobody asked me about a boyfriend or any stupid questions on why Devon wasn't here. I'm sure my mother told them what happened already. She can't hold water. My parents seemed to calm down and were acting cordial again. 

"Can I have everyones attention" Jordan asked getting up and holding Sage's hand 

"We both would like to announce some news to you guys"
