Five days later...

Today was Mateo's last Physical Therapy session and I couldn't be prouder. I woke up extra early to prepare a mini celebration for his accomplishment. Tomorrow he would be back on the field and I wanted him to feel special before.

His nieces were the sweetest girls and made me think of my own sister. I felt bad for not checking on her since I left so I rang her phone hoping she was up.

"Hello?" I heard her yawn 

"Sage! Are you sleep?" I asked concerned I woke her up

"I wish, this baby never lets me rest" she laughed into the phone. It was nice to hear her voice again

"Is my niece being bad?" I asked her putting up some balloons in the room

"How do you know it's a girl" she asked. I had a feeling it would be since she announced her pregnancy. I know her and Jordan would have the cutest little girl and I would spoil her rotten

"Call it luck" I responded putting up more stuff for Mateo's surprise

"Mom tells me you're in Qatar. What made you do that?" she asked me. I heard Jordan call her name as she walked to  the bathroom 

"Well... don't tell anyone this but I'm here... with a guy" I shyly told her

I heard my sister gasp and start screaming, "A guy! Who? Do we know him?" she asked me a bunch of questions and I shook my head. She was being dramatic, it must be genetic. 

"No, you don't know him. He's a soccer player and I met him during work" I said telling her the whole story. It was since to talk to my sister since she got married and started her career we never had time to do this

"Rose why would you say that to him" she yelled at me after I explained why I ended up here. "Don't judge me that was in the past" I responded back, Sophia already told me how much of an idiot I was for that, I didn't need to hear my sister too

"Ok ok, just know i'm happy for you and I won't tell mom yet" she giggled, 

"I do have to go though sis. This pregnant lady needs sleep" I understood and said goodbye hanging up. Setting my phone down, I stepped back and looked at my creation. Mateo was going to love it! 

Vinicius and Sophia walked in shortly after with the food I asked them to pick up

I gave them both a hug, "you guys can place those over there" I said pointing to the empty table. It was 15 minutes before Mateo would come and everything was coming together. 

"Rose, this is beautiful" Sophia praised me walking around

"Thank you" I said shyly. The door opened and Chris walked in with Mateos coach. 

"Wow Rose, this is nice" Chris said. I smiled at his comment and watched their coach look around with a pleased smile. The rest of his team joined us and soon we heard the door open and screamed, "surprise!" 

Mateo looked around shocked taking in the decorations as his team slapped his neck. He had a big smile taking in the surprise and looked happy his team was here to celebrate. 

I watched him stride to me, "You did this for me?" he asked holding my was it.  I nodded my head and hugged him, everyone in the room watched us confused on this alliance. We hadn't told any of them about our friendship and I tapped Mateo's shoulder to let him know. He pulled back and looked at everyone, "you guys remember Rosalie" he said holding his neck seamlessly
