XANDROS
I held Owen's hand as we roamed through the shops. We were here to do shopping for ourselves but the only person who was mostly shopping, was Miss Ava Grace. Nobody else. Owen started slow walking till he was limping which was something that Toby also did when he got tired. I stopped, pulled him closer and picked him up in my arms, hugging him to myself. He wrapped his arms around my neck and placed his cheek over my shoulder when I kissed the side of his head, "You okay, bud?"
He nodded, "Hmmm. The reason I don't come with AG."
"Heavy buyer, huh."
He sighed and snuggled in closer to me, "You have no idea."
I signalled Ava to keep looking for whatever she wanted as I sat on the nearest bench with the little one in my arms. Rubbing his back up and down as I cuddled him close to me like a baby, he sighed, "I miss dad."
My arms tensed around him as this was about to be a deep conversation, a heavy topic and something which usually ruined moods of many people, but I still kissed his head and continued with it, not wanting to shut him out when he wanted to vent, marking this as another memory of signal for him to show that he could always come and talk to me about whatever he wanted and whenever he wanted, to get the burden off of his chest for him to rant out whatever he wanted, "Want to talk about it?"
He raised his head and looked at me, "He found someone else to love, you know? He found some other son he loved more and he left us. All three of us. Never looked back at us once. He is mine and I am his but he just............. forgot." He shrugged his shoulders and whispered, "As if I no longer meant anything to him."
My heart died for this little man when I rubbed his forehead, easing the tension lines on them and kissed his head, "He didn't deserve angels like you."
"Aren't angels invisible?"
"It's not necessary that all angels are superficial. People can also be angels, the ones who drop out of thin air only to be friends with you, to look over you and protect you from every harm that might come your way. They are extremely kind to you, look out for you, care for you and don't stab you in the back. They don't look badly at you and stand in front of you as a shield to protect you from every bad charm. The ones that love you for who you are, who love you uncontrollably and immensely and are always there for you. They are like-they are like........... the only best thing to ever happen to you. That one, single, best thing that always makes you smile before you close your eyes."
He sighed and placed his cheek on my upper chest when he whispered, "Why doesn't dad miss us?"
"Kiddo, he is different. He has his priorities set and they are absurd, to be really honest. The one who left you, he obviously cannot be a good person as no one leaves their children. Parents love their children till death."
He looked at me, "Did your parents love you and your brother?"
I smiled and cupped his face, "A lot. And that's what normal parents do."
He nodded and again laid his cheek on my chest when I hugged him closer, "I promise I will be there for you whenever you need me. I can be the dad figure that you need, and I promise you wouldn't regret it."
He grinned and hugged me, "I already love you."
"Well scooby doo, I hate to break it to you but unfortunately, I love you the most."

"Avaaaa let'ssss goooooo." I whined.
"AGGGGG Pleaseeeeeeeee." Owie whined.
She turned to us and smiled, "A few more minutes, honeybums."
I groaned, "You have been saying that since an hour, you sick pickle."
