It was finally getting to the end of high school and closer for those ahead of me to graduate. It was going to be weird not having Killer and the others around so much since they knew where they were going; but I was happy for them.
Working on finals was hard but I had Nami, Robin and Koala to help but out with most of my tests. And everything was going well with Shanks I mean my dad, sometimes he would invite me over to have dinner with him and Ms. Makino hell I even got to meet my little half-brother who is two years old. I couldn't believe I was a big sister it was amazing. I would have to say I know my life was great I never knew it could get even better, I loved everyone and everything in my life.
But I did notice that Ace has been acting weird lately, but he always been weird, but this is beyond weird. He seems to be hiding something from me whenever I want to hang out at his house, he always makes something up. So, I don't know what to think, hell even his brothers were hiding something and I sure as hell know that Ace was double crossing me because I asked, and he freaked out that I would think that and was basically on his knees begging me not to think that, so I know for sure it wasn't that.
But I was in my room at the apartment over the shop; doing some of my English homework for finals and it was making my head hurt for sure since I wasn't good at poems or anything like that. But a knock on the door brought me out of my schoolwork mind, standing up I went to the front door and opened it seeing Nami and Koala there, but they were dressed in their dresses for home coming which confused me.
"What's with the fancy get ups?" I raised a brow at them seeing them both smile brightly.
"No need to ask, we came to give you a makeover and to put on that dress you bought" Nami said with a grin that always meant trouble, but I had no choice but to go with the flow.
I sighed as I let them both in, heading to my room Nami sat me down by my desk and brought out her makeup kit while Koal brought out my dress for home coming. The dress was a nice warm light orange, that had a light-yellow draped sleeves that settled over my arms while the neckline went around my neck. The bottom of ankle high very flowy with sparkles at the bottom and faded to the top around my waist. I slipped into it feeling like a princess when Nami put by hair up in stylish messy bun with my bangs framing my face perfectly with the light makeup, I couldn't help but blush.
"Alright let's go" Koala said being excited as we headed out the door and into Nami's car to drive somewhere that I had no idea about.
We talked and laughed all the way to this mystery place, when we stopped, I couldn't help but notice we were at the Newgate mansion which made me look at the girls when they both smiled and giggled. My door opened by Sabo who helped me out along with Koala and Nami.
"What are you guys up to?" I raised my brow again as I followed them to the front door.
"Just something Ace cooked up for you" Sabo smiled brightly when he opened the door for us girls to go in first.
Walking into the mansion was like walking into the movies; seeing all the people dressed all fancy for a ball. I couldn't believe all of this; the decor was breath taking like a Hollywood night style. I couldn't help but smile as I walked around the place trying to find Ace anywhere to see him.
I walked into the large living room which was turned into the dance floor with some food and drinks laid out on a long table. I'm sure Thatch cooked everything since he was an amazing cook; looking around the dance floor I soon noticed the lights came on showing glowing white sparkles and gold while the song Let Me Be Your Wings by Barry Manilow & Debra Byrd started to play which made me confused at first when everyone gathered in the dance room smiling warmly.
That's when I turned around and saw Ace dressed up in a suit with a tie that matched my dress, I couldn't help but blush and smile at him when he smiled holding his hand to me.
"May I have this dance?" he asked me with his hand held out to me which made my heart skip a beat.
"Yes" I said taking his hand in mine.
Ace pulled me close to him placing his free hand around my waist as we began to slow dance to the music; smiling warmly at each other as we looked into each other's eyes, I really felt like a princess now when we danced to the soft music which held deep meaning for us both.
We felt like the only people in the room even though our friends and family were there soon joining us on the dance floor with their partners; this was better than any home coming this was something very special for sure and I couldn't be any happier than I am right now being in Ace's arms like this as we danced.
While we danced, I didn't notice that he moved through the crowd and soon took me out to the large balcony looking over the garden; the music was softly playing in the background when we both stood at the railing of the balcony, I was about to ask but I heard loud booming's of fireworks up in the sky which brought my attention to the ones blasting in the sky over us. I smiled brightly as Ace held me close to him as we watched the fireworks above us.
"Just like when we first met" he said in my ear which made me even happier that he remembered that there were fireworks when we first met; I couldn't help but smile up at him as he smiled warmly down at me.
"I love you" I said to him holding back the happy tears in my eyes.
"I love you too" he said back to me, pulling me closer as our heads leaned into each other until our lips met in the middle, sharing a deep loving passionate kiss while the fireworks still blast in the sky above us letting this be the great year of high school of my life, meeting the man of my dream Portage D. Ace my wonderful and lovable Playboy Cowboy.
