Chapter 8 Initiation observations

they were in the locker room were Ruby was getting her beloved Crescent rose with Yang and Rose. 

Yang " so you seem awfully chipper this morning!" she said

Ruby" Yep! no more awkward small talk or getting to know you stuff, Today I get to let my sweetheart do the talking" she said as she coddled her weapon

Yang" well remember Ruby you're not the only one doing through initiation if you want to grow up you're going to have to meet new people and learn to work together "

Ruby" ugh you sound like dad!"

Rose" no but but maybe if she was male she would sound like your father" Rose said     

Yang" do you not know what a saying is or are you being sarcastic?" she asked

Rose just stared at her 

Ruby " ya but first of all when has matting people have anything to do with fighting?" she asked

Rose" I'm inclined to agree" 

Ruby" see Rose get's it!" she said

Yang" Rose I thought soldiers relied on communication?" she wondered

Rose" no we simply nodded to each other and only spoke to each other when we needed too but in a battle you need to focus on the opponent" she said

Ruby" ya and also I don't need to grow I drink milk" she said crossing her arms

Rose" milk dose not effect age Ruby" she said looking at Ruby

Ruby" ugh whatever " she said

Yang" then what are you going to do for teams?" she asked

Ruby" I don't know maybe be on a team with you and Rose" she said

Yang" maybe try to be on someone else's teams?" she said

Rose" no I must be on the same team as Ruby I am meant to protect her" she said

Ruby" ya and Yang my dear sister are you telling me you don't want to be on the same team as me?" she said

Yang" what?! no! of course not I just thought maybe it will help you break out of your shell " 

Ruby" what the!? I don't need to break out of my shell that's absolutely-"

Jaune" ridiculous There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday!?" he said as he passed by the trio of girls

Rose" so incompetent if he were in the guard he would have been shot a long time ago" 

Yang" wow Rose that's dark" she said

Rose" it's true I once saw a guardsman from another regiment get shot in the head by the commissar for trying to run away" she explained emotionless 

Ruby just gulped at the brutal reminder of were her duplicate came from 

Ruby" well Rose I don't think you have to worry about that cause we are nowhere near a commiesar " she said grabbing Rose

Rose" Commissar" she corrected " and krieg soldiers don't run I think we got commissar's so they could avoid us getting our self's killed   " she said still emotionless 

Yang" okay then that's very grim and dark " she said 

Then the speakers cackled to life

Glynda" would all first years students please report to Beacon cliff for initiation?"  she said over the speaker system

They began to walk and saw Weiss and another girl walk away from Jaune with the one in red pulling a spear out of his hood

Yang" Having some trouble there lady killer?" she asked as Ruby put her arm out to help him up

Jaune" I don't understand my dad said all women look for is confidence where did I go wrong? " he said as Ruby helped him up 

Yang" 'snow angle' probably wasn't the best start" she said as Yang helped Jaune walk

Ruby" come on Jaune let's go" she said as they made their way outside

Rose followed but was very confused on way Ruby helped him he clearly wasn't injured so why did he need help up? this world is weird

Time skip Beacon cliff's

as they made it to Beacon cliffs Ozpin instructed them to all stand on one of the pads

Rose approached Ozpin and Glynda

Rose" permission to speak sir" she said much to the surprise of Glynda

Ozpin"  granted" he said sipping his coffee

Rose" you have instructed us to all stand on the pads but it appears there is no pad for me sir" she said 

Ozpin " correct you'll not be joining Ruby in initiation and you will only step in if she is in danger so till then you will wait with me and Glynda" he explained 

Rose" affirmative sir" she said doing a salute then walking off

Ozpin and Glynda walked in front of the students with Glynda and Rose 

Ozpin" for years now you have trained to become warrior's and today your ability's will be evaluated in the emerald forest" he said

Glynda" now I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well allow us to put an end to your confusion, each of you will be given teammates...Today" she said much to Ruby's displeasure 

Ozpin" these teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon, so it is your in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you work well." he said to more of Ruby's displeasure 

Ozpin" that being said the first person you you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next 4 years" he said causing some glass to shatter somewhere much to Rose's confusion

Ruby" What?!" 

Nora" see I told you"

Ozpin after you've partnered up make your way to the northern end of the forest you will meet opposition along the way do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die" he said

Rose 'those are words I like to hear' she said mentally 

Ozpin" you will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation but our instructor's will not intervene except expect Rose here to do that task" he said looking at the guradswomen  

Ozpin " you will find an abandon temple at the end of the path containing several relic's, each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff, we will regard that item as well as your standing and your grade appropriately, are they any questions?" he asked 

Jaune" ya um sir-"

Ozpin" good now take your potion's" he said 

soon all the students got ready as they got launched off the cliff one by one  but Jaune wasn't paying attention instead he kept asking question's until he was launched off screaming then Ozpin sipped his coffee

Ozpin " so Rose tell me a bit about yourself" he began
