NARRATOR: In the first event Shigaraki thought that Izuku was just showing off by throwing two 0 points in the air and destroying them, but found it ridiculous as UA was unable to make anti-flight traps which meant that first place was decided very quickly and the other participants did not had a lot to show since they were wanting to save strength for the other events, already during the second event Shigaraki became more curious on how Izuku's group would work and unlike the other spectators Shigaraki wasn't that surprised by the first move that Izuku made to fend off the other teams, but he was somewhat excited by the formation they made resembling a type of chimera, at that moment two ideas appeared in Shigaraki's head, the first is that if he looked at it in another way it was almost like a Nomu with multiple body parts manifesting a quirk at the same time and how the Doctor would say a it was a complete failure, and the second was that as soon as the Doctor finished his work with sensei he would ask him to make a new Nomu that would be some type of a chimera and that would be stronger than this brat, Shigaraki already expected that he would win the first place again so taking advantage of the break he decided spend time talking some things with Kurogiri

SHIGARAKI: Kurogiri do you think I'll be stronger than that brat?

KUROGIRI: with you being instructed by sensei I have no doubt that you will be, but for that you must not go against his orders
