Today's story is written by Nae @31aicinol on here and Twitter
"Good morning everyone! Time to get into the Christmas spirit" Andy walked into the beanery, wearing a beaming smile with a tin of home baked ginerbread cookies for the team. Mostly everyone quickly reached for a cookie, or 2. "Sweet", "I love you" and "thanks Ands" were heard around the room meanwhile Vic and Theo were hesitant because it was a known fact that Andy was not the best cook, let alone a baker. The last time she decided to make pie for the holidays, those who were brave enough to eat it got food poisoning.
"Who baked these?" Vic asked incredulously. "I did, who else wouldve baked them. I was up last night decorating and decided to bake cookies" Andy stuck in her happy bubble was oblivious to the looks being thrown between Theo and Vic. They had both picked up on her happiness and glow the past couple of months. She stopped hanging out with one of them every off day and stopped going out with the team after shifts and she was always smiling like a giddy school girl but everytime they asked her about it she just made up the excuse that this is her first holiday in a while where her life isn't in shambles so she is going to enjoy it as much as she can by holiday shopping and watching Christmas movies. While she was telling the truth, she wasn't being 100% honest. Theo had his suspicions on what was going on meanwhile Vic just figured she had a new man in her life and wanted to keep her private life exactly that, her private life, until she was ready. "Are you sure Tia Sandra didnt bake these?" Just as Andy was about to reply Robert walked into the beanery toting a smile to match Andy's. "Trust me, they're amazing and safe." Vic being Vic now had more questions that needed to be answered. "You just got here so how would you know?" Robert risked a glance at Andy before answering. "I ran into Herrera in the locker room and she gave me one. Trust me, i was suspicious myself. I got sick the last time she cooked for me. Why do you think we got a divorce?" Andy threw a punch to Robert's arm feigning hurt feelings "Hey! Im not that bad!" Robert rubbed his stomach remembering the night Andy decided to make him a birthday cake from scratch and how he ended his birthday with his head over the toilet and her rubbing his back while profusely apologizing. "You are though"
Vic wasn't sure if she 100% believed his story but the green in his face from remembering that day caused her to let it go and enjoy. Everyone had been sitting around the table enjoying conversations and laughs while confirming they're Christmas plans, trying to figure out where they'd have Christmas dinner.
At one point Andy noticed that everyone except her and Robert have not had a cup of coffee. She excused herself from the table but first asked Robert if he'd like a cup. "Ba-Robert, would you like some coffee?" the team ignored it but Travis couldn't help but laugh "that's funny, sounds like you almost called him babe and he has a girlfriend and you have a... whatever it is that's keeping you away from hanging out with us and you're both divorced. Don't do that in front of your girlfriend"
It's a good thing that Andy had already turned her back to everyone because she had now turned a bright shade of red. While everyone continued with their side conversations, Vic sat quietly thinking because she felt that something didn't seem quite right.
Andy sat back down at the table after handing Robert his coffee. She turned to Ben and started a conversation about Pru but was quickly distracted by a text which caused her to blush. At that moment Vic put two and two together. She had been watching Robert and Andy's every move and saw the look Robert gave Andy as she read his text. What were previously suspicions, she was now 100% sure of what was going on. "Oh my gosh! You two are doing the do!! And right under our noses!" Vic yelled as she stood up in excitement that she'd finally figured it all out. Robert and Andy were both caught off guard and before they could try to deny it, Vic began to lay out all of her receipts. "Andy, ever since you and Sullivan got divorced, you came out with us after every shift, you hung out with Theo or myself on almost every off day and you used to babysit Pru a lot but you haven't done any of that for the past 2 or 3 months!" Before Vic could continue, Ben corrected Vic "No, she has been watching Pru but this explains why Pru always comes home talking about uncle Robert all the time." Vic turned back to look at Robert. "And you Mr. Smiley Pants! Don't think I didn't see you send Andy a text! You two have been lying to us everyday?! I can't believe this! How did I not notice any of this?!" The room fell silent, waiting for a response from Andy and Robert as they just sat there looking back and forth between each other and the team, not sure what to say or even where to start. The silence was broken by a Travis. "WAIT! So about a month ago, the both of you disappeared and Sullivan had a hickey?! Did you two sneak off for some rated r alone time?!" At that point, Robert turned a bright shade of red, instantly confirming what Travis said to be true. Oh that's just... wrong. Wow you guys are great at lying" Robert finally regained his speech and tried to explain. "Okay, okay. Yes, we are back together. With everything from the last time, we just wanted to try and discover ourselves as a couple and do everything right this time before being judged" He was sure to give everyone a look that told them he was most definitely talking about the prying eyes and negative opinions the team threw at them after announcing their marriage. "So, the cookies... did Robert help? Is that why he knew they were safe to eat?" Vic asked because she still wasn't 100% sold on Andy baking them on her own and them being good. "Trust me Vic, I would not allow her to feed you whatever it was she was trying to initially bake when I got home. I would never put anyone through that pain." As Robert spoke, Andy gave him a look, waiting for him to finish and threw him another light punch "Hey! I don't think it was that bad!" "Babe, you had eggshells in the batter" Everyone all began to laugh as Andy tried giving an excuse. "If you must know, eggshells are a good source of calcium. I was just looking out for everyone" This caused everyone to laugh harder and Robert to give a "Yeah, sure" while going over to her to grab both of their dishes to wash but not before placing a kiss to the top of her head. "So are you going to tell us how you two got back together?" Ben spoke up asking the question that everyone wanted to know. "Well, if Andy is okay with it, since we still haven't finalized where we're holding Christmas dinner, how about we do it at our house and we'll tell you?" Andy gave Robert a questioning look because so far they had been going out on dates and spending time at either his or her place and he had always referred to his place as his place. Robert gave her a look back, telling her "we'd talk about it later". What she didn't know is that he had bought the house for them right before all hell broke loose in their marriage and he just couldn't bring himself to sell it. Since they had gotten back together, he had been slowly decorating it and had done some minor renovations. He planned to show it to her Christmas morning and if they really didn't work out this time then he'd know that it wasn't meant to be. However, this time around it felt right, they were talking more, they were healthier: apart and together. He just knew that this time around, it was going to be forever. If only he had warned Andy not to bring the gingerbread cookies to work, they'd be able to keep their secret a little while longer because let's face it, the bubble felt amazing.
