Hunters POV
It's been about a week since Darius helped me with my now new scar. I've started to talk to him more and it's been nice. I never really get someone to talk to other than Flapjack in the castle, and he's not even allowed to be there. Darius hasn't given up on finding out who gave me the new scar on my forehead. I still don't get why he thinks it's such a big deal since it's a pretty normal thing for Belos to do. I was able to gather information on the human this time so Belos won't be disappointed! Before I can continue thinking there's a knock at the door. "The Emperor wishes to see you, sir." "Thank you for letting me know!" I signal for flapjack to hide. He turns into his wood form thingy and I put him in one of my pockets where he won't be noticed. I head over to the throne room and stop outside. The doors open as I walk in. I kneel before my uncle and wait for the doors to close. "You wish to speak with me?" "Yes Hunter, I would like your report on the human?" "This week I discovered that she is trying to build a portal door of her own at the owl house." "Very interesting.." "I was not fully able to tell if she was successful, however, I do believe she managed to communicate with humans." "I see, thank you, Hunter. You have not failed me this time." "Just doing as I'm told, sir." "As I want nothing more with you, you are dismissed." I nod and stand up to leave. I head out the door and walk back to my room since I have nothing to do.

After reaching my destination I lay down on my bed. I then remembered that my flyer derby uniform had gotten ripped at one of our games. I picked it up and inspected the damage. "Nothing I can't fix!" I said to myself and flapjack as he flew back out of my pocket. I pulled out a sewing kit that was in my dresser and sat down. I carefully threaded the needle and began sewing. It took me about an hour due to multiple failed attempts. I held it up and felt accomplished at my work. Darius had been teaching me how to sew, and I think I've gotten pretty good at it! I decided to do some more research even though Belos told me that I shouldn't be bothered by it. I read for what felt like ages, and it was. I looked out the small window in my room and it was already getting late. I hurried down the hall towards the kitchen. Since many people in the emperor's coven, such as me, stayed in the castle overnight Belos had a kitchen installed so we wouldn't starve. I headed over to the kitchen and politely asked for dinner. I was given what they had left of that night's meal. I ate up and headed back to my room.

I got changed into pajamas and climbed into bed. I sat there with the lamp next to my bed, on. I had been having nightmares for a while now. It was usually about Belos giving me what now are my scars. I was used to it and knew that he was only looking out for me but, part of me was scared of him for it. I hadn't spoken about the nightmares to anyone except Flapjack. Because, well... it's Flapjack. And I know for a fact that he won't tell anyone. I lay, there not wanting to fall asleep, afraid of what memories would haunt me tonight. I turned off the light in hopes of gaining even a few hours of sleep. I closed my eyes, and the horror began.

I walked down towards the throne room, not knowing what to tell my uncle. I had failed my second mission in a row! Then again, I had only started being golden guard about a month ago. I headed down and greeted the guards at the door politely. They opened the doors and I walked in. I walked toward my uncle's throne and kneeled before him. Soon taking off my mask, not to come off as rude. "Have you managed to succeed in the task assigned to you this time, Hunter?" I sighed feeling bad for failing my uncle yet again. "I apologize, uncle, I tried my hardest but the task was quite difficult." I expected him to lecture me as that was what he had done the last time I failed, but I was miserably wrong.
